already have tekins in both the vta car and RCGT - and not gonna have the one esc sitting around doing nothing, sorry but that ain't gonna happen...

$59 for reman or $$79 for a new one if you look at the novak site.

Set of rims at my LHS is around $26.00 with tax, a set of tires are around $27. Okay so I was off $3.00.

and nothing personal, but why would i run a esc that has been know to thermal? and why would i want a re-manufactured esc when i have a perfectly good one sitting in my car right now?

ain't gonna have this arguement with you online - you got issues that you feel you need to resolve with me, feel free to PM me..

I got to run at Niftie's, and even at Bob's, too! Always a good time at Ray's events, especially when he arranges for the AMG Mercedes joy rides.

just looked at the website this morning for giggles - and saw that....

how much of a speed difference would you see by going with 1S lipo and 21.5 versus doing 25.5 and 2S lipo?

The 2s / 25.5 would be substantially faster than the 1s / 21.5.

We did some pre-season testing late last summer, I tested a 1s / 13.5 pretty hard and heavy compared to the class standard 2s / 21.5. The 2s / 21.5 was a few tenths faster on a moderately flowing 40 X 65 track...neither car running a "super esc". That would be pretty much the same spread as running a 1s / 17.5 vs your proposed 2s / 25.5 which should see similar results. The 1s / 21.35 wouldn't even be in the hunt.

they should just make all onroad 1s, i mean 1/12, wgt, oval all run 1s and tc (vta) is 2s. 1s seems to out weigh 2s in the onroad scene.

cheaper batteries, lighter weight = less wear and tare, and the 1s setups fit awesome in the current chassis'. 1s seems like a no brainer for me.

The rules or class should change to make it a Spec class. We also all know driving is a huge part of the class too. (our track for example) if your average lap times are a 14.1 and the top 3 are all running 13.5's your gonna lose no matter what ESC Motor,Battery you have. even if you have a clean run and your a good driver a terible setup will put you in the back and the fast guys will always stay were they are because they know who the slow ones are so stay were the winning is. BUT we also know your electronics can have a advantage on the field. I don't think a rule change will kill the class just from experience. I grew up around Drag racing and dirt track racing my whold childhood and still,(but not as much) to this day and rules changed all the time and you would see the same drivers 90% of the time. same thing it was all out of pocket and the little they did get didnt matter. I rember my uncle winning in his class and he got $20 and a 12 pack of beer and a cheap plastic trophy but when the rules changed he changed to comply because he loved the racing and the people he ran with. So the whole point is don't fear change because eather 1 most will comply or if we lose racers new drivers that wan't to race will feal more comfortable because they will have limited chocies and not feal that they have to spend the big $$ to try and be upfront. Sorry for the speach but if I realized this class was gonna be this much of a headace I would be doning other kinds of racing and it wouldent be in Rc. I love the class and the friends i have made but it is getting old. Spec it and ill stay and im sure it will be a postive out come. Now I hand the mike off and step off the podium for someone else

thats what I am wondering as out here seems everything else is going 1S lipo, with the VTA, I have heard of some places doing 1S lipo and 17.5s . Novak also have a 1S ESC too I believe now right?

What is also a no brainer is the wailing and gnashing of teeth if that change came.

just think if they went 1s

you could buy two batteries for the price of one, you could make the class as fast or slow as you wanted with a motor change, no more adding silly weight to balance your car (just put the running gear in the proper places), less overall weight so tires and basically the whole car will last longer, etc...

i know, everyone's a cry baby if it don't go their way. but the mightly dollar should and does rule everything.

say if i buy three 2s lipo packs = $400.00

say if i buy three 1s packs = $180.00

that should sum it up pretty good.
