Now you need to pick up one of the Pegasus '69 Mustang bodies and do Alan Moffat's car, or a Pegasus '70 Camaro to do one of Frank Gardner's cars (a worthy tribute to the recently departed racing great).

I'm in FULL agreement that a screw through the roof and into the driver's head is a non-starter (in my book, anyway). I'm not sure how much I worry about the "no body" (there ARE practical considerations after all) but a full tray wouldn't be difficult at all, would enhance the look of the car immeasurably, and make everything easier to mount as well. Plus a properly done tray can be changed from body to body so you only really do it once.

Back in the day (not even 20 years ago) a full tray was required--windows HAD to be clear and you couldn't see electronics through those windows. It was the rule, everybody complied with it, no one was at any advantage or disadvantage.

Congrats on your effort!! I'll spend some time this year figuring an interior out that can be done inexpensively and fairly easily (if it requires some resin casting I'm well-equipped and reasonably skilled, but my vac-former is too small for 1/10 interiors) so we can incorporate the rule for next year. It came too late for us to incorporate this year.
Well said. It would be nice if someone came up with one a little less expensive - US$20- I think it was - As much as the body. At least it will transfer from body to body with double sided tape. There was a link about page 420 or so with someone with a Convertible with this interior tray - had to find one for myself. Really good quality too. Should look sweet when done. (My body will probably be trashed by then though)

And yes - lucky they had a Right Hand drive set for us backward people in Oz.

Hey...if it works for you, I'm A-OK with it. It just wouldn't be my choice for mounting is what I meant, though wasn't appropriately clear on.

Default 2009/10 Hurricane All Star Series/USVTA Great Lakes Series

Just thought I'd post this up here as a reminder. Victory RC is always a great place to race, and some of the best USVTA drivers in the country will be there.....

"2009/10 Hurricane All-Star Carpet Series……5th year

http://www.rctech.net/forum/wisconsi...et-series.html

5 total races……7 total races for VTA only

November 7th-Victory RC Raceway in Green Bay, WIhttp://www.victoryhobbies.com/index.html

Trans AM
Only HPI part #4797 31mm Rear and #4793 26mm Front Vintage compound treaded tires with stock inserts are allowed.
Tires must have full visible tread on tire at first qualifier of the day.
Only Novak 21.5 motors are allowed.
All Current USVTA rules will be followed
No 1-ways are allowed…..cars must be full time 4 wheel drive all the time

***we will not allow the Turbo feature to be enabled for the all Tekin ESCs. You may run all the normal timing advance you wish, but the Turbo must be off. Trans Am is about cars that are fairly equal, and good racing. This is meant to ensure we are trying to reach that goal. We will have a Hot Wire and PC with us to help anyone make this change at any race of the series.***

Points
Will be the standard format of 100, 99, 98 etc point system with 1 bonus point each race for the TQ of the class.
There will be 5 total races with 1 race(your lowest number) being your throw out
We will use the best 4 of the 5 races to count towards the overall point total with that throw out total being your tie breaker.

The only class these points will not be the same for will be for Trans AM…..This year the Hurricane All-Star Carpet Series will be run in conjunction with the USVTA Great Lakes Series. The USVTA GLS will have 7 total races with 5 races counting towards its point’s total. There will be two races in addition to the 5 regular Hurricane Series races ...1 additional race in November and 1 in January. The last USVTA GLS race will be the last All-Star Carpet Series race so awards will be handed out then. This also gives everyone in Trans AM an opportunity to make up a bad performance or a missed date at one of the additional races.

Rules and Dates are subject to change....
Please check out our Facebook page for updates as well...

When going from running VTA to say 13.5 rubber on the same chasssis, how much of a different setup are you guys seeing, other than the tires, motor, and body change.
