RS Novak 21.5 5000mah 28C Motor timing physical minimum, speed control 18, boost max, delay 0.5 sec.

vs

SPX Novak 21.5 3800mah Orion Profile 6.

Had it not rained. The RS would have lapped the field 2x with a 22.5 sec lap time.

For comparison 17.5 times that weekend were 20.8 for the same driver.

Clif and Justin and Battman know Jolley and how he can drive, but the RS was outpulling him by far. Unsure how he would be with profile 7 though.

The "amazing" thing is that you bolt the same hairdryer onto the same engine in, say, an Astro van and it'll do the same things. And have some useful hauling capacity to boot.

Thomas
thats like compairing apples to oranges
jolley's shaft drive setup isnt the greatest car to realy stretch its legs on a large layout.
he has never been up to speed (linear) compaired to me or cliffs cars
actualy not many are and i think that set up makes a lot of diff.
thomas come on out to Q's this weekend and see first hand what im saying.
must say though Q had me back my timing down so i wouldnt blow by everyone as i did in the first heat i was running lap times that .5 off what the 17.5 guys were running. Q ran a 17.1 zack was at 17.7 ross was at 18.2 i think those were the fast laps their were 4 other racers that ran in the 19s
i ran a 19.7 with my vta and was running the same top speed as Q and ross (within 5' down the strait) (the 17.5 had alot more out of the hole though , which is were the lap times differ)
cliff ran a 20.1 jk and had the same linear speed .
cliff is alot faster now that he is in the sponsored TOP ride.

Ive been interested in the chassis myself. I loved the specimens of the photon that showed up at the Thunder 500 in Nashville.

I really cant argue with that, but I still wont share your disdain for the car. Or for that matter anyother 80's car. My favorites are the Z and RX-7.

Hey gang, just a quick plug for our "season point finale" USVTA race on October 4th....We're holding this again at New Jersey Motorsport Park, so tons of spectators will be onhand!

http://www.rctech.net/forum/racing-f...rk-10-4-a.html

We're also taking part in a big race at Jackson R/C on October 18th which will feature Lots-o-Vintage cars too.

There will be another thread about that one too....

If you liked what you saw there you should come run some VTA with us here in Jonesboro. This area is getting riddled with Photons!

I had seen the pics on RCtech , but I learned to appreciate them in Nashville. They are really well done. The arms look flimsy, but I saw those cars take a pounding. So Im ok with that now too.

I think we were the only team that didnt break out during the race. I cracked a front right steering knuckle, but it was found after a scheduled driver change it wasnt even to the point where i could notice it on the track.

If it can hold up to me running it in a race like that the car is pretty darn tuff

I'll give you the mini van thing

Questions?? 3200mah 30C vs 3600mah 30C 2S1P Lipo

Will I see much of a performance/run-time difference between these two batteries?

Ordered the 3600mah, but received the the 3200mah's by mistake.

Thanks,

Daddy-o

PS Cliferton - ROTFLMAO... almost (almost) makes we wanna go buy a mini-van!
