i know its been talked about dont remember what page, the new 21.5 novak balistic motor specs compared to the SS, and the havok ESC is it updated .....cant figure out why my ESC havok 21.5 system is thermaling, has ran for over 20 mins same track same set-up same driving style and never it temped hot before now .... i remember other racers talking about thermal issues with this combo.... with 4.9 FDR and no drivetrain drag i dont get it....per USTVA rules are you only compliant with this combo? no timing advance does that mean if a ESC has that option it shouldnt be allowed? forgive me if this has been asked .....im an offroad nitro head

I agree, we need to keep testing until a viable option pops up for the majority. I also think that individual clubs/tracks should continue to adjust their interpretation of the rules to suit their local needs, as long as that interpretation allows visiting VTA racers to join without being completely ill equipped. For instance, we have three outdoor tracks in my area that run VTA, luckily with similar rules, save for some body differences. In my opinion, the national rules helped keep the class together here.

you think that other big races will allow the same open motor option in VTA?
i know the duo motors are faster and they will put the tap times near a 17.5tc
last weekend i would have ran mid pack in 17.5 rubber. and was runing .8 off of their fast laps. Q turned my speedo profile # down to keep the other vta guys happy.

I was going to ask you about that, but I didnt want to be a nag. Sorry about the blurry ones. Next time I will weed them out before I send them to you.

I hope to make it up to the MCC race on the 27th. If I can shoot out in the daylight I should be able to shoot the cars without blurring.

I hope not. There's a local trophy race that went with open 21.5 as well, supposedly to bolster entraints. In my opinion, open motor is another way of saying "motor of the month". We haven't had to worry about that for two years now and that's been great.

I think we need some kind of hold down on the class...and Novak only 21.5 is great to keep at least as much fair as possible...just as Dirla said..now he wants/needs a DUO cause its "FASTER"...this will only cause problems that this class doesnt need....

JUST RUN THE NOVAK 21.5 and lets do some racing..or is it some of you are afraid to run what everybody has to run.....that just makes up for driving skill or lack there of...

Even if you are slow, (me) you at least know you need to work on your driving. Its worse when you are constantly following what new gear you think you need to be faster. At least you know if you are slow, its you not your car.

Not that a gear change and some set up wont help too.
