hey USVTA, any ideas?
that would be nice if the powers that be could set/org a schedule for the 'nats'/big races early...then clubs could schedule around the 'nats' or other big races... we just need some cordination...

For this class do you guys run the 200mm bodies or the 190mm bodies? Somebody told me that 200mm are used even though these chassis's normally use 190mm bodies.

If this is not true, do you think the extra 5mm on each side would look very bad?

I bought a 200mm and am trying to figure out whether to open it and paint it or return it for a 190mm body...

The bodies for this class are very specific. If you did not buy one of the following, take it back and get a legal body!

Bolink part numbers:
BL2262 '68 Chevrolet Camaro
BL2263 '65 Ford Mustang

HPI part numbers:
17510 - 1970 Plymouth AAR 'Cuda
17519 - 1966 Ford Mustang GT
17508 - 1965 Ford Shelby GT-350
7494 - 1968 Chevrolet Camaro

Parma part numbers:
10143 - 1969 Z28 Camaro
10141 - 1970 Boss Mustang
10113 - 1970 'Cuda

Pegasus Hobbies part numbers:
PGH4001 - 1970 Camaro SS
PGH4002 - 1970 'Cuda
PGH4003 - 1970 Mustang

200mm bodies.. no they don't look bad. With the offset rear wheels and their width I'm not 100% sure they would fit inside a 190 body. Plus as someone just mentioned there are specific legal bodies.

the cool thing about our local track is they don't force you to the 3 body types as long as it's not not a truck or a TC body anything mostly goes. so I'm waiting for the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR body from hpi that just came out.

Can I paint it for you Robert? Don't ruin the great 911 with the 'dirla fad'.

For 2009 the national race was announced January 10th 2009. How far in advance do you think it should scheduled?

The best and brightest Chicago area TA racers will be competing, with many folks traveling from afar to attend these great outdoor races. This year it's a two track two race date series in July and August.

I think what he is saying is that the USVTA should have a hand in organizing VTA races across the country..if nothing else have tracks that are running VTA championships..like the Music City Champs(40 cars last year) to submit the info say by Jan 1..so it can be looked at with the official eye....

the Beat The Heat is a good example..they changed the date which made the GA On-road champs seem second nature..GA might change the date but not for sure yet...but both are very important races for the Southeast region...with alot of VTA racers attending...

just like with the RC PRO series ..we need a little guilding light so the race directors can make it work for all...

thats another example...for some reason this race fell on the 11th and 12th you would have ppl who like to travel to race VTA torn between to races..

ps..also the USVTA should have a hand in BTH 2009,imo,cause its the 1st time for VTA and X-ray brings alot of top racers..plus the Memphis on-road scene is HOT...stacked full of great races and alot of on-road support...and VTA could fit right in with a little guildness...jmo

I see your point but isn't RC Pro Series a full fledged corporation that makes a profit and has over a dozen people that work with it to make it all work well?

USVTA has one guy at the helm.

I'm confused and not following you. What is it an example of? And what does 11th and 12th mean?
