Hello
Does anybody know who makes the National VTA decisions on official bodies? I went to United States VTA Official website but I didn't see an email contact to ask the above question. HPI is coming out with an early sixty's Corvette body and I was wondering if it will be added to the official body's list.
Thanks

You are right about that. HPI or Protoform would come up with a much better representation.
I keep hoping and I know HPI would make it if there was enough intrest, but the tooling is expensive. So we wait and I keep badgering AndyH.

The Corvette did not race in the Trans Am series, so it would most likely not be approved.

Default Knoob needs a translation...

Ok, you guys got me hooked...looks like my old TT01 gathering dust on the shelf is gunna get converted back to street use from it's current rally set up (I think I ran it once in the dirt, lol). I just had a quick question about the mention of "4-cell" niCd/NiMh batteries...I am assuming this is just a standard 7.2v stick pack used by everyone for the last 25 years? Or in the interest of speed control are we droping down to 4.8v packs?

Just wonderin...

-M

Also, class seems pretty unlimited to mods to the chassis? Only tire/wheel and motor/battery combo's seem to have restrictions, otherwise it's anything goes regarding aftermaket parts, susension geometry changes (except ride height), chassis lightening (down to 1450g) etc. etc?

In a few words, no and yes.

I'll es'plain. 4 cell @ 1.2 volt is 4.8 volts. (not the 5.8 mentioned) 27 turn brushed and 17.5 brushless use 4 cell sub-C packs. Lipo is allowed with Novak 21.5 brushless. (7.4 volt)

You are accurate on your chassis understanding. The chassis is anything but spec allowing for creative tuning and customization. Any 4wd, 1/10th scale sedan chassis is a good candidate.

Welcome the the Wonderfull World of USVTA!

Default thanks for the clarification...

and the math...lol, got up to get a cocktail, realized my third grade teacher was turning in her grave at my pathetic attempt not to use my fingers, and was too slow on the draw to correct it, lol.

So what's the general concensus, do most folks prefer to run their 4-packs more rearward to better simulate a rear drive car, more forward for better steering, or split the difference with a couple pieces of PVC in the middle of a 6-cell sized 4-cell pack for more equal distribution?

Thanks,
-M

I guess I'm a Mopar guy again...at least until someone invents a Bonneville class and I get the '53 Studebaker body I have always wanted

The final round of the NorthEast Grand Slam was a few weeks ago at Mimi's The Track. Mike Haynes destroyed the competition. Sadly the racers in Maryland cannot peel people to saves their lives. Haynes was 3+ laps in the lead until Seaball encouraged the racers to try and take him out.

Seaball must still be upset about getting beat at the Halloween Classic...

But GT 350s and Hemi Cudas were??? And ya'll claim 21.5 LIPO is as slow as 17.5/27T four cell, while the rest of the RC world equates 21.5 LIPO with 13.5 four cell...

If you do not like the rules in this class why are you here? You can run rcgt class! I'm not trying to offend anyone but why visit here and try to change what this class has going.

No, but very similar body styles were and that's as close as it gets.

Just read the thread and you'll know everything there is to know on this debate. That's why the thread is here.
