[QUOTE=reenmachine;5394312]Look at the image in the background in this pic...coming to an RC track near you! Can you say historically correct? Notice the wheels on the 'vette even.

AWESOME job on the SunRay DX Special!! I gotta get RCGT here if THAT'S what's doin'. I built a slotcar a few years ago with that livery. The red pinstrip between the white and blue was nearly my undoing...hand is no where NEAR steady enough. Another great choice would be the Penske car...red from Daytona and "Sunoco" blue (with black tape over the "Penske Chevrolet" logo) at Sebring--the first Sunoco blue Penske car.

EDIT: yup...the one reenmachine posted while I was typing

LOL--that pic is my computer's desktop image. The black and red Cougar was raced locally when I was a kid. Burien is the south suburb of Seattle, right near the airport. My first job was in Burien, right across from the Ford/Mercury service garage.

Those are sweet - and the chassis is VERY interesting to boot

I wonder when they will be available and how well they would work with a VTA body on them

WAIT!!!

I found my Sub-Lime Challenger. Only has a 4-speed, but it'll do. btw--the leg press station at the gym has NOTHING on the clutch pedal in this bad boy. And no flywheel effect either. VROOOOM. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take it out on the track...

Just asking opinions.
I have a TA05R that I run for VTA. I've been reading about shaft drive cars, honestly never had one, so I've been considering stepping up to an EVO 5.

Just wondering on opinions between the 2. From my understanding, with the mild motor and the fact that it's brushless, there shouldn't be any noticable torque.

Thanks for any replies, jut want to make sure before I make the move.

I run a shaft-drive TB02 in VTA. No torque steer with the 21.5. Shaft drive cars are supposedly snappier down low but I can't say that I really notice the difference. At VTA speeds I also don't think you'll see gains moving to a chassis like the EVO 5 from your TA05R.

@Scottrik and dodgeboy....

What a coincidence, I literally just had a friend paint me a replica of that Challenger in Sublime Green and everything! I just got it last night, can't wait to tear it up Sunday at Winthrop

The fastest VTA at our track is a TA05R. He's one of the better drivers but with that car he is usually considerably faster than everyone. At Novak TA05R's (one was an IFSR I believe) went 1-2 in VTA. I think that's enough to say the TA05 is more than capable enough in VTA.

We are getting ready to start a VTA class in West Virginia. My current touring cars are both 190mm. I noticed that HPI lists the bodies in 200mm only. I know that the bodies will fit, but will the track width be proper? Or will the tires be set too far inside the fenders? I hope this is making sense. I am hoping to run the Shelby Mustang or the Cuda. Thanks in advance for any help.

With the HPI tires and wheels the 200mm bodies fit 190mm cars just fine.
