has there been any testing with the other 21.5 motors that were released?

Also, has has performance been for those running older style shaft driven cars versus a conventional belt system? I know that people could have torque steer issues in touring back in the day with shaft cars, curious if this is present in VTA?

Personally, I'm getting better results out of a shaft car, which I've heard is often the case at this power level. I was racing a Tamiya TB02 all season with great results. Then I got a new chassis for regular TC racing and started running my Tamiya TA05 in VTA and let a friend race the TB02. I just can't get the TA05 to perform as well -- same weight, same FDR, and they have the exact same suspension components. Maybe it's just me, but that's my experience.

Thanks for the info. I remember if you could put down the power in TC spec class, the shaft drive gave you that instant punch feel. Is that what you were experiencing?

Thumbs up USVTA NEWS

Hey guys, I have been assured by Novak that the brief distribution and supply issues with the 21.5ss motors has been resolved and the supply is being ramped up as we speak. In a few days, there should be no problems getting your hands on a Novak 21.5 at all.

In other news, a little birdy told me that ROAR is working on approval of a set of construction specs for the 21.5 motors this weekend. The future of the 21.5 is getting better, and probably sooner rather than later. At this point, though, the Novak 3421 motor is still the only USVTA-allowed 21.5 motor.

I'd guess some of the 21.5 issue (particularly here in the midwest) was due to the BRL... Many got gobbled up around here for the first race...

Novak has them in stock. I finally broke down and ordered from Novak off of their web link Tuesday afternoon.

It's interesting that they are marketing it with the VTA logo ... since the motor in the kit is not VTA-legal.

I noticed the same thing, but it's still a nice plug for VTA.

Thats a Castle Creations ESC and motor. What I want to know is can you drive the Novak 21.5 with that ESC?

Its not very VTA-ish but I love the way they have the mustang body squatted down over that Sprint 2 chassis.

Has anyone seen the 2009 Chevy Camaro in the race ready form and the retro VTA paint Blue with Yellow wheels and numbers?

I've seen a 1/25 scale model car painted like a Penske Camaro in Scale Auto Enthusiast magazine.
