I completely agree with your comments, I have or I am actively selling my FK'05, Pro4 and other TC's and have settled with a pair of Cyclone S chassis for my son and I. The last race we held locally I was holding down 3rd place with a bone stock Cyclone S until I hit a marshall's foot and broke a battery bar...What other TC class can a 109$ chassis compete with 400-500$ chassis?

A well balanced and tuned chassis is as capable at T/A speeds as the newest out there.

Testors has a line of paints in the offical colors. You have to use the lacquer ones not the enamel.

Guy more advice please.

Well I sold my XRAY after I realized it was way more car then I needed for TA.

Just picked up a used TA 05R for $76. Any one running one of these, need set up advice. If I need something, I want to get it coming.

It's basically stock
You should be pretty much set. I run my ta-05 mostly stock. On high bite carpet the tamiya springs might be a little soft. I run x-ray whites all around. given the speeds involved you get away with tamiya yellows.

Mopar Panther Pink/Moulin Rouge is more of a magenta color. If you want accurate Mopar "High Impact" colors, find the Model Master Lacquers at your local HS. You'll have a perfect match with that paint. And the lacquers work perfectly on Lexan.

Other High Impact Mopar colors from Model Master:
  • 28124 Panther Pink/Moulin Rouge
  • 28121 Plum Crazy/In-Violet
  • 28106 Go Mango/Vitamin C
  • 28117 Sublime/Lime Light
  • 28107 Hemi Orange/Tor-Red
  • 28118 Green Go/Sassy Grass
They are still missing Top Banana/Lemon Twist, Citron Yella/Curious Yellow and Bahama Yellow/Butterscotch, but those can be easily mixed from other existing Pactra paints without much effort.

Should be the same color. I didn't see the Hemi Orange on the list of MM colors. Sweet!

On another note....dose the 21.5/lipo set up only limit you to using a 2c 7.4 5000mah or can you run 6 cell nimh with the 21.5 motor....asking this to answer a question that just came up locally......Thanks for the help

Wes, its any ROAR approved lipo. no cells. cya sat

No, the rules for 21.5 are not allowed with NiHm 6-cell packs. Too many other variables with weight, peak voltage and removing the spec restrictions of this option.

Example is we had Mopar score 16 podium finishes but only had 3 cars... but Chevy won the points with only 9 podiums but had 6 cars. Probably need some different scoring or Chevy will pretty much always win.

So only score the top 3 finishes? Only score the top 3 (or top 5) finishers of the race? A main finishes?
This is EXCELLENT stuff & why I'm falling so deep for V.TA. I would say to keep it as less complicated as possible , Just score the A-main finishes, top 3 to 5, what ever is easier.
Hey K.BO...This is something to think about in our area for 09 bro. I would definetly be one to stick to one body for the season. Hell, I'd be down for one dedicated body, and number....Paint schemes optional

if we'd do that, we'll score the top 6 (or 8 if its a BIG "A") like the do in 1:1 racing...

If we can get everyone to agree to it, and post what body and number they want to run for the season, I'm all for it..it would be a cool thing to relate someone to the #XX car all the time instead of a body of the week or month

Its actually someone (with free time and web coding knowledge) can have a blast for...There's Mini-Z guys in Maryland, that have a "paddock" report and they talk about the different manufacturer "teams"; as well as detail "pro" race reports - http://www.ncrcracing.com/ - its a really cool idea and a lot of fun

I've been posting pictures in the VTA photos thread (http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...sion-only.html) , but since the question of paint colors came up here are 3 'Cudas. All 3 are painted with Model Master paint. From left to right the colors are Sublime-28117, Moulin Rouge-28124(Panther Pink), and Green Go-28118.

Gotta love the 'Cuda Crease!! Or at least that's what we call it!! That inevitable dent in front of the front tires on a Cuda.

weracerc;4845117]decide for yourself - these are the only three pink polycarbonate friendly paints - some say laquer will do but others say no - testors 28124 or or 1841M might do it.

I think the third choice is it.
