Well bring your little bag to Norridge one Sunday before the outdoor season ends and at least get one race in with part of a program you helped begat.

On a Sunday AM you are probably less than 30 minutes away from pitspace, 3 qualifiers and a 8 minute TA main. If you do show up I'll have a table, chair, extension cord for you and pay your race fee and buy you lunch.

PS:

We won't tech you.

I remember , but its been 20 years. Nobody rebuilt a motor themselves. You had to mail them off for that. We would show up with a radio a charger and a small box of tools. Heck when I first started racing all I had to charge my battery with was a wire that hooked up to the car battery. I would wait 15 minutes or if I was daring I would wait until it got pretty warm. Never had one go boom though.

Thats when racing was fun.

Nah that would be the 11 kids "Pa" Dailey..... Decent sized races at the "Plex are a good time. Roar Nats had like 170 people so these races are more regional with usually 100 - 150 entries. Plenty of room and good racing!

Well it looks like I need to bring my TA and GT-10 to the race along with my BEER mug to keep up with Mario and Beardmoore!!

Maybe leave the 1/12 scales home and have a good time racing!!

Is my pit space still there? "Sonic Grenade" Out!

Pit spaces are always available for the Colorado crew!! Not sure how many folks that normally attend this race are running TA, but I would bet this will be a pretty big class. It would be super cool if we could land 40 - 50 entries for the class.

Pretty much. Someone should get a bunch of inexpensive cells wire up 4 cell packs for all your regulars. Let them run their Lipo's in the qualifiers and for the main race make them all put the 4 cell packs in and see what happens.

It would be 20 dollars per person if you tried the test with these cells:

Exclamation

Very minor edits/updates made to the USVTA rules today on the website, FWIW.

There has been a tire rule updated, in that "double stuffing" of the tires with multiple foam inserts is not allowed. This is common in Tamiya TCS racing, and is not legal for USVTA racing at all.

Also, there has been a very slight amendment to the stance that if it is not in the rules, it's not allowed. A clarification needed to be made to allow for fun and realism, like the addition of the handmade Firebird nose, interiors, driver figures, brake lights, engine noises and things that contribute to the appeal of the class and not detract from it. This has been re-worded as the "Spirit of the VTA" rule and allows anyone to increase the scale aspect of USVTA racing. In all cases, it is up to the track owner or race director to use his or her best judgment on what is allowed and what is not allowed in their USVTA class.
