What next? Dish Wheels? Might as well use a Dodge Stratus body while you're at it.

6-cells, custom spoilers, no numbers... might as well be in Stock Rubber.

We had a race last Sunday... part of a series of races in NC/SC. This was the first time they ran USVTA in the series. Pretty good turnout and a lot more interest generated in the class. Here are some pictures of the event... if you look through them you can find plenty of VTA cars.

Thanks to all the input form you guys I have everything and I'm ready to go except charger(s).

The ORion batteries I ordered, don't have a balancing port, but in the future I may buy ones that do.

I've been looking at used Ice or Tirton Jr's

ANy other ones I should look at?

Also, recommendations on external balances

BYW can't believe how far cars have come since I left the sport, love the Xray, really like the externally adjustable shocks.

and weather premitting I'll be at the Top Gun race with 4cell and numbers and I'll try to get a wing variance from Chad as it is the same size as the stock just more durable.....

If I'm not mistaken, all Orion LiPos have balancing ports on them. And balancing isn't something you will really need to worry about for a while. Especially in T/A where the amp draw is very low, you probably won't need to balance a LiPo pack once a year. For that need, borrow someone's at the track.

Hey, where is everyone getting the gumball number decals from? We are going to be assigning permanent numbers in our area, so everyone wants to incorporate them into their paint scheme. Also, does anyone know where I can get some Gulf Oil decals?

I don't think that this car ever competed in Trans Am racing, and your R/C car totally misses the mark on the spirit of USVTA racing. Please don't start this same trend that basically killed touring car racing.

egalism,

Nashcrasher is just goofing. Don't take anything he does seriously. He respects the rules that the USVTA have set forth for everyone. Next year he's coming up to the TA nats so we can all have a shot at knocking his "bodywork" off.

Sup' Mr. Dirla, nice catch on the Fireball 500 car.

Geekspeed,

The white meatballs are on a HPI decal sheet. Check with Apexspeed to see if he has any left. I think they're no longer being made.

If it keeps on like this, I may have to "re" retire my Yokomo, and T/A my Xray.

I agree with Apex about the balancing on the Peak/Orion lipo's. I have 2 that have been in 4wd dirt cars, 13.5 tc's and now my VTA car. I've had them for almost 18 months now, and bought a MaxAmps balancing lead for them and the balancer blinked for barley 2 minutes. So I don't think a balancer is critical to get immediately.

wow...now thats the way to take all the "FUN" out of r/c racing...sounds like some of you should try it before you ruin the "CLASS"..for the majority... if you are wondering why you only have about 6-10 racers....oh well...come see what we are doing and then make up your own mind...cya and the bodies look great..except yours..lol..RD
