Default Kinda confusing

Roar now has two stock class`s ...

Who is going to be considered the king of stock at the Nats ?

The pro stock stock drivers or the 27t, 17.5 driver`s ?

Seems Roar`s intention is to divide the class`s by skill`s rather than motor`s...

or

Am I wrong ?

Maybe Roar intends them to be equal and nether class is the supreme of spec driver`s...

As I read things, the 13.5 and the 17.5 are the only ROAR "stock" type motors that have stock-like restrictions. The 10.5 will be considered more of a limited modified class, meaning that they meet modified specs but limited at 10.5 turns.

I know Novak's 13.5 and 17.5 motors meet ROAR's specs. These are the only ones currently available. LRP's new motors meet ROAR specs and we will submit these for ROAR approval once the forms are available. I am not sure what other manufacturers have motors in the works that will pass.

My question is since the finalized rules just came out a week ago how could anyone have a motor already that meets the specs unless they had knew the rules before anyone else could have a copy or ROAR setup the rules to meet their motors and no one elses. No way could one motor company get lucky and hit all ROAR requirements. If so they should play the lottery because they must be able to read into the future.

Its called lobbying, If novak has the most pull during the motor design / rule making.. they might be lucky enough to be the "blueprint" for the future.. Its a lot more politics than you think it would be

Brushless "stock" motor rules were created with the input of many manufacturers. But modeled after one manufacturer's because they had created the template for the rules.

There is nothing shady about any of this.

total of 5 classes
21.5 novice only

17.5 stock non-sponsored only (meaning battery and motor) car excluded
13.5 pro stock factory only (meaning car, battery and motor)

10.5 mod non-sponsored only (meaning battery and motor) car excluded
3.5/4.5 open mod factory only (meaning car, battery and motor)

i think this is a good idea because novice needs a class just for themselves and it also lets the good stock or non sponsored mod guys have a chance to shine instead of constantly being overshadowed by factory guys with seems to have the best of the best equipment plus the driving skills to match.

Agrees, 1000% with Rick.

I've done some running with it myself... I like it. I'd race these, it would be great! Still to fast for a lot of entry level racers I've seen.
