That sucks about the GTB. Looks like a 3.5 motor and 8000mah LiPO so we know getting the amps to fry that orange was no problem. Look on the bright side, your car is well intact. I would think that negative wire getting hot enough to unsolder from the ESC prevented further damage

I once had a GTB burn up with a 13.5 motor. I suspected the problem was from the 5V fan. It stalled and caused too high of a current on the BEC and that inturned caused solder flow to short out the whole ESC.

try a shpere 07, I dont even need a heatsink with it, get up to around 120 at the end of a race
