Great thread!

Paul, im wondering about the effects of overall (front and rear) reduced wheel base vs. overhall increased wheel base.
In wich conditions do you think each option is best?

I race mod with rubber on asphalt, if that matters.

Thank you

Question....at what speed does opening a car door and stabing a 5 foot tall trophy at the car next to you become unsafe....80 was ok but I want to know if I can push it further?????

Brian: i will be around, see ya this weekend.

Neil: Barry baker, Ralph burch, Drew Ellis and my self for sure, and i also think that bobby flack, travis schreven and Jim herman will most likely be their and im sure a couple that i forgot.

Elvo: DUH you haven't ever heared of Babies R Us. its pretty evpensive to get one out the door, unless if you want to settle for a sea-ball (their practicly giving those things away). lol

Hi Terry, It is possible that one of those might be close enough to use but wont be exactly the same. Xray stuff can be expensive but i can promise you that the xray hubs are out of better material, lighter, and tolerenced better than any other hub. sorry i couldn't be more help, Thanks

Itchy: a longer wheel base should handle front to back roll with more ease than a short wheel base TC. a short car should handle side to side roll better.
Short cars drive wide, long cars drive Narrow.
thiat is if you change the front and rear at the same time, keeping the car exactly 50/50 (hypotheticlly) front to rear weight.

scrubnick: I dont think that i will be able to make that race, i hear that it is a good one to go to, but at the start of the year the on-road stuff goes crazy with alot of races.

Kevin, express: in the words of father Walski, revenge is a dish and its best served cold. and of course 13.twooooo. lol

when i watch u guys drive it seems unreal. how do u guys get soooo much cornering speed? referring to asphalt and using a spool in mod.........how brakes u/pros use? seems like ur always on power even in hair-pins. how much steering lock is prfered for asphalt/spool racing? its as if u slow the car and get it rotated some before the apex then crank the steering full overand pull the throttle almost to max.

thanks again.

"Man...now Im going to have to go to the Dealer to have them put back on!"

For someone who can drive an RC car hubcaps were out of his range of abilities.

Island losi: on ashpalt brakes are very important and i use them more often than ever while running rubber tire asphalt. with rubber tire asphalt(especially when the track is hot) you have to match the speed of the car perfect with the courner. if you come in too hot you will loose a tenth and help burn up your tires, too slow and youll loose a tenth against someone who got it right.
for me a good asphalt car is one that has a bit of a push to it so you can get away with sawing the wheel a bit, but like you said it still has to be set up to carry good courner speed. but for the most part their is not a big driving secret to going fast except practice and race guys that are going to beat you and you will get better faster.
