Default LRP Sphere 07 question

Just to elimate doubt, I sold the ESC in the pic to a guy as a Sphere 07 ESC, he got it today replied that he is not some F%$#^ retard newbie and stated that im trying to pull some stuff with him. So let me know what you guys think, is this the Sphere 07, the guy that I sold it to thinks its an 06 model.

If you indeed did sell him the speedo on the pic, then its the 07 version, but not the TC version if thats what he implies.

I think they all have a cap from what Ive seen on LRP's amercan website and their website out of Denmark. I guess my buyer is saying something about the 07 I sold only having 6 profiles and it supposed to have 8?? But for real, how many profiles do you need, I was winning races with it and didnt even know it had different profiles Maybe I should start reading the instructions. Maybe my M11 is a laser pistol and I dont know about it

But thanks to you guys for responding !

the 007 has a cap
and there is a yellow sheet in the box.
the 007 has 4 modes
autocell system 2
adpc 8
initial brake 6
automatic brake 6

the 2007 over the normal sphere is mode 2 8 instead of 6
mode 4 automatic brake more precisely adjustable in smaller increments.revised maps for perfect operation with sintered and bonded magnets.

Default box stickers

I had one when they first came out.
It's probably the stickers on the box that are throwing him off, think LRP just slapped some stickers on them to visually show the difference from the '06 and the '07. And yes as someone stated earlier there is a yellow instruction insert in the box.
I can't remember that cap, it's been a while.

Ok, so I actually bought mine in Jan of 07 and I cant recall if it had a yellow sheet with it, but it did have the 2007 sticker on the box, making it a 2007 sphere comp. Whether or not this esc has 6 or 8 I havent a clue, just saying what the buyer is stating. He also said it has a blue wire for servo something or another which I know mine didnt have, I just had a servo plug in for the rx, a switch, and motor and battery wires.

So is there any possibility that I bought a factory sealed 80700 with a 2007 sticker that doesnt have the current 8 profile firmware or that I have a first version 07 firmware?

I am done with this. I won't get involved in an online pissing match. It obviously won't get resolved.

Anyone can put a 2006 Sphere in a 2007 Sphere box and say it's a 2007 Sphere. I'm not saying that the seller did that, but it's definitely a possibility. Not only does the 2006 Sphere have fewer profiles, but it also has a smaller power cap than the 2007 Sphere (which is visible to the naked eye if the speedo is taken out of the box). This issue seems like it would be easy to clear up unless there's a reason why the seller doesn't want to clear it up. Post a picture of the power cap and settle it once and for all.

that sounds like a solution...post up a pic...
or
perhaps why don't you call up the LRP tech office and ask them or email them a pic..and tell them your problem, hopefully they can help you.

please don't get me wrong I don't know either of these guys buyer or seller...
I'm not picking sides....someone just posted a question and thought my post would assist a little.

....I have a LRP Sphere Comp, and have no idea if it's a '06 or '07.

I've been asked several times, but several people which one I have...and I have NO clue. Mine looks like the one in the pic on the LRP website (the NON TC version)

Don't recall what color the CAP is, but compared to the cap on my GTB's this thing is TINY. A couple people have looked at it and told me it's an EARLY '07 version...

What else should I look for?

Are there features of the 07 that are better than the '06?

Hi,

the Sphere Competition 2007 Edition does have 8 ADPC profiles in BRUSHLESS mode and 6 DEMS profiles in BRUSHED mode.
The original Spehere Competition (2006) does have 6 profiles on ADPC aswell as on DEMS.

Also, the 2007 Edition does have a larger capacitor. It is much longer then the one form the original Sphere Competition.

The pictures in the first thread looks like a 2007 edition.

Best regards,
Andy
