very good point, it gets annoying when your race is ready to go and the director is calling for the marshalls, leave your car next to the track and get to your post.

If you can move quickly between two points, pick two corners that are close together, like a chicane, and watch those.

My personal rules for marshalling.

1.be shure to get my car on video before the start of the race, perfered with it setting on the grid next to other cars.
2. Wait a second and see if my car has reverse,i wouldnt want you to trip on my car and hurt yourself.
3. take a minute to relax, you just ran your race and your nerves are shot.
4.Make shure to have your video camera down nice and low as nothing looks better than an RC zooming by.
5. If you manage to pop a shock back on,shove the battery back in,or put out a fire, see me later for drinks.
6 Thanks again setting my car back on straight,as my 5-8 minutes of racing isnt long enough and i was stupid enough to crash so you are helping me enjoy my day.

Also, LEAVE YOUR CELL PHONE IN THE PITS! Nothing is as bad as having to get the marshall's attention because they are talking on their cell phone. You can wait the 5 miuntes to tell your girlfriend/wife/significant other that you got 8th place in the C main...

Default good pionts made[and definetly taken into consideration]

.....it's interesting how certain things are overlooked....the "steppin' on my car thing/and an appology" goes hand & hand. Fortunately, i've not stomped on anyones car[ in the event that I did however, i'd step up and offer to buy a replacement part to the driver ]...mistakes happen. Once again , cool thread.

You say to put the cars back in the order that they wrecked, and then you say to ignore the order in which they wrecked and put them down in the order they were running before the wreck... you can't always have it both ways.

If the marshal is really doing his job, he shouldn't really know the running order anyway... "watch your section of the track, NOT the race" is a rule to live by. I say, regardless of running order, the first to crash is the first to get marshalled in a multi car crash.

Don't smoke or talk on the cell phone. This happens all the time.
When there's a multi-car pileup, it's hard to marshall with one hand.

Also, please don't yell at marshalls if they're not able to move as fast as you'd like... If I had a buck for every time I heard someone tell me "I'd have made the A if the marshal hadn't taken his sweet time..." My response is always "You might even have TQ'd if you hadn't put yourself on that board and given the marshal his chance to ruin your run"

We need a separate thread for driver ettiqutte again.. from the Director point of view. (you know, those guys who actually have to look at the big picture and not be self-centered on his toy car)

Try not to fall asleep while turn marshalling - I have seen it happen!
