This is what ROAR has needed for as long as I can remember. A president that talks with the membership, cares about the sport and has a vested interest in its growth.

I have known Dawn for over 5 years now and I can say she is the same person I met in Albuquerque then. Not afraid to share her option, but not naive enough to ignore yours. Now she is in a position to truly make a difference in our sport and I look forward to working with her for years to come.

On a similar note, my favorite Dawn moment came at the 2004 Mod Nats at ARCOR. It was Ryan Maifield’s first ROAR National and he had just TQd round 3 of 2wd Buggy. He was in the last heat and in his excitement took his transmitter back to the pits. There was a break between rounds, so we went to get lunch. When he returned, he found that his run had been disqualified due to not returning his transmitter to impound. Dawn came to me before issuing the penalty and told me that it broke her heart, but that it had to be done.

That is the type of leadership we need in this sport. Firm, but fair. Congratulations and good luck Dawn!

Oddly, your favorite "Dawn" moment is my least favorite memory....
