Default SMC New Improved IB4200 and IB4600

This week we have been shipping the new and improved IB4200s to our distributors. After 3 weeks of track testing the results have been very positive. The reliability of these cells is much better than previous versions plus the ontrack performance is still very good. Supply is a bit tight and we hope to have good supply by the end of December.

We hope to ship the new IB4600s to our distributors by the end of the first week of January. We expect the IB4600s to have the same improved reliability the new 4200s with the runtime being a bit better than the 4200s.

I hope for IB's sake, that they have fixed these issues, otherwise they are only nailing the coffin shut on themself.. if the consumer hasn't already decided to do it for them.

hopefully i will be purchasing cells from the new batch when i buy my 4 cells for da birds.

All packs we send out have the New Improved IB4200 sticker on the box.

IB4600s will also be available in early January.

Danny.....

Good luck with those. I'm afraid I'll have to pass for the time being.
Maybe later after they're out for awhile, and have been proven to actually be better.

By 4600 are you referring to the ener g 4600 on Jeff roes site?

If not what are the differences?

Default ib4200 problems

Danny, quick question. Did all of the people who had problems with the IB4200 cells get new packs? Were the blown packs replaced? What about the packs that showed 0v?

Did IB send out replacement cells, or did the matchers have to eat the costs?

While I am NOT speaking for Danny I do know that SMC's policy is to replace defective cells/packs when they are notified and customers contact them. This is the same policy that about 90% of matchers have as well including myself, express, brood, Hurricane, etc.

There was 1 batch that was so bad it NEVER made it off the matchers and IB did replace those for the matchers...other than that it has been absored by each individual matcher.

I'll second that EA. SMC and EA Motorsports have warrantied cells I have had issues with. I can speak for several of us that race together and the customer service has been top notch.

F**k Me Runnin! I have thrown away four SMC/IB 4200s (well cared for & properly built might I add) in the last three months because they had zeroed out for no apparent reason. That sucks! I wish I had be more persistant when I called and complained.

Not trying to disrespect. I just wish I would have know. Or been offered the option. I have spent a lot of time trying to smooth things over with customers who have bought theses packs from me and it has'nt been much fun.

I got two new packs at Cleveland and ran one of them all weekend except a couple of practice runs.

After Cleveland the pack sat in my car for a full week before I got a chance to pull it out and charge it back up. The cool part was that the cells all had voltage and when I cycled the pack it was only 5 seconds off from what it ran at Cleveland.

So far for me, the new batch is way better.

Time will tell how long they last but so far, they act completely different than the last couple of batches.

Well, lets see...... We spend hard earned money on something that turns out to be worthless junk. Could have driven down the road and thrown the cash out the window, would have had the same result. I don't remember anybody posting anything saying somebody making a mistake. Maybe money doesn't mean as much to you as to some of the rest of us?

I'm just saying. Danny has come out with new cells and he's just letting people know. Then people go and S$#@ all over him for it. And we wonder why the world is the way it is. Lets be a little more positive and maybe more will get done. None of my comments have been about the $. I don't have any so yes it does mean something to me.
