Finally figured out what IB stands for.

Instantly Broke
or is it
Instant Blowups.

Guess it could also stand for
Ignorant Buyers.

ive got plenty of SMC ib4200s, raced them all last winter, and been racing them all this season so far, out of 12 6 cell packs only one individual cell went south on me. thats better luck than ive had with any other batteries

There has been good batches of IB4200s but the batches in the past 6 months or so have had some issues and this is why we stopped matching them and waited until IB found a solution. Now that they found it were matching cells again.

yeah man, keep taking our money for $65 a pack thats good for 6 cycles, after that if u dont have a matcher ur good pack aint good any more, from a high competitive point of view.what i mean if u race with a group of racers and all of u are very close on the track the guy who have the deeper pocket or sponsored will get the new pack and all of a sudden hes 2/10 a sec faster/lap so to keep up u have to go out and buy a new pack, and the story goes like that, evry 5-6 cycles on the pack.i have been doing this for so long but couldent do anthying about it untill lipo came out,thx god.

what he said !

"Found a solution"? Is IB so clueless that they didn't know what they were doing wrong and had to "find a solution"?

Actually making high performance sub-c cells isn't that easy. IB and other cell manufacturers are trying to offer cells that are as fast as possible on the track. The cell company that has the best track performance will most likely be the cells that racers will want to buy. So the competition between manufacturers is what creates these issues. I believe IB now understands that the cells reliability has to be more important.

Duh!

[No disrespect to you (Danny) intended with that, but great disrespect to IB]

If these Nk-Ml battery manufactures fail to change & improve their product & business practices , they deserve the same faith the 2000, 2400, 3300 and the 3800 received....
