Unhappy vented cell juice

A cell i was matching vented, the smell was still pretty strong should i be worried about some crazy poisoning from touching the cell juice or breathing the fumes?

I have this stuff in my basement, should i be worried about the fumes hurting my kids?

( I have th window open and fans on down there now to get rid of the fumes).

If you had a chemistry set when they were good (like mid 80's) it smells like when you dump all the chemicals out and light it on fire. I mean i guess not that i've ever done that or anything.

Or ezoff, if you get the not lemony ez-off oven cleaner and spray it on some aluminum foil that is what it smells like.

A weird heavy acrid smell, not like burning plastic but like really hot metal w/ a hint of burning plastic ... hard for me to explain ... i still have a bit of a head rush from it hahahaha. <-- jk

Funny thing is now that cell has a voltage of .965v i wonder if i zap it will it come back to life, has anyone "fixed" a vented cell?

I remember the old 1700 yellow sce day's i'd vent those things all the time, but my parents would only let me charge them out on the porch hahaha they wouldn't even let me in the garage w/ it! I'd blow those cells up on a weekly basis (used an old astroflight timed charger) and i'd forget it was charging or my voltmeter would fall off or something.. I'd freeze them and then charge them again adn they were kinda o.k.

Sorry to say, but home chemistry sets haven't really been "good" since the 1960's. the chemicals from 1980's sets may burn, but the ones from the '60's blew up real good...
