My entries are on the way! And before anyone asks, NO I will not be recreating my last appearance at Novak where I kitted my car in the sweeper.

Hi everyone, I hope all is well and everyone is getting ready for a wonderful Christmas and ring in the new year with the Novak race. Thanks to all that have helped answer some of the questions on here while I was gone. I am back now and getting ready for the race.

Here are the motor rules for the event.

2008 U.S. Touring Car Championships All Brushless Motor Rules:

Rubber Tire classes
“Novak Motor Only” classes. Only the designated turn of Novak Motor can be used for the appropriate class.

Mini Rubber Tire 17.5 = Novak SS Pro 17.5 #3417
Sportsman Rubber Tire 17.5 = Novak SS Pro 17.5 #3417
Masters Rubber Tire 13.5 = Novak SS Pro 13.5, or SS 13.5 #3413
Rubber Tire 13.5 = Novak SS Pro 13.5 or SS13.5 #3413
Rubber Tire 10.5 = Novak SS Pro 10.5 #3410, or SS4300 #3401

ONLY the standard Novak 5908, 12.3 mm Rotor is permitted in these classes.

Foam Tire Modified
Considered more of an Open Modified class. Any manufacture’s motor that meets the IFMAR Brushless Motor Guidelines (Does not have to be approved on the IFMAR List) is eligible. Motors can be submitted to the tech department at the beginning of the event. All Motors are subject to inspection during racing and post tech inspections.

All Brushless motors and parts in Modified must meet Basic IFMAR Brushless Motor Rule Guidelines.

Foam Tire 10.5 and 13.5
13.5 and 10.5 Motors completely based on IFMAR approved motors are legal for these classes. Meaning that, they are the same as their modified counterparts, accept for the number of winds of wire.

Manufactures must submit motors to the Race Tech Department for approval at or before the beginning of the event. Submissions can be made now directly to Novak Electronics, or present them to the Tech Inspectors at the race on the first day of practice. A complete sample of each motor and any possible accessory items like Rotors, endbells, or Heatsinks should be included.

Motors must meet all IFMAR motor guidelines, and have rotors no larger then 13mm.
All motors are subject to inspection during the event.

The penalty for any bending of rules will be immediate ejection from the event. The offending driver will not be permitted to participate in next years event. Any team drivers found to be in breach of these rules, with motor manufactures representative present at the race, will find both the driver and the manufacture not permitted to participate in next years event.

We had hoped to require all motors to be readily available through normal distribution before the event, this does not look to be the case for all the manufactures. The least we can do for the paying customers at this event is require any motor being raced to also be available in the Hobby Shop. 30 pieces minimum. This seems to have been the accepted norm over the years for situations like this.

If you have any questions, please contact [email protected] and [email protected] for clarifications.

Our goal for Next Years US Touring Car Champs is to have all the motor rules in place at least 3 months before the event date.

We tried to make this as fair as possible for everyone. as always if you have any questions ,please let us know.

Many entries have been rolling in, but dont forget to book your hotel rooms. Our block of rooms ends in 1 week, then we cannot guarantee you a room at the special Trackside rate after next week.

New Years day race is $15

We look forward to having everyone back at Trackside for another great race.

Thanks,
Scotty

So, I've got an idea. (yeah, thats what the smell is.... HAHAHA) You guys come up with a Bet for me and Mr. Ernst.

He's scared, shaking in his boots right now. I had a spy report that the lights in the track have been on way past closing, and there is tire dust all over scotty at night..... He's been practicing like crazy.

So, with my total lack of practice and his crazy practice, I should get some Odds in my favor don't you think???

A bet that is fun for the whole family. I was thinking some sort of "dress" bet, but that's old, and well scotty would enjoy that.....

If anyone has any q's on the motor rules at all, please email me directly for clarifications, I'm super fast on emails between 9 am and 5 pm PST. I have a hotline to scotty directly. It's a beeper in his ear, that says IT"S CHARLIE.

Being Wisconsin it has to include sausage, cheese, and beer (pine trees optional).

Barry- that might be the worst (sp) ..... idea.... ever......

Either way, we both loose on that one.

Remember, the bet must be family geared. Trackside is a "Family Joint".

Scotty still is practicing. My Spy reports that he's only 1 lap slower then the club race times now. I heard he's flying in the AE team early just to work on his car and get him dialed in. Stelflu told me he built him a brand new car and is dialing it all in for him.

Charlie,

I tried asking Scotty about your comments.....but before I could finish he gave me a roundhouse kick to the head, told me Charlie can't hold his jock and then proceded to run 497 laps......all of them were 10.0's
