I guess with introductions and probably a littles extra time between heats (due to poeple running multiple classes) 7 hours is probably a better guess.

If mod wasn't so ridiculous and stock/19t slowed to proper speeds then I think you would see racers in their proper classes. Many of the fast stock racers would then move out of stock becuase it's to slow. They would move up to 19t/10.5 and or limited mod. The Cuffs, Schrevans, Shreffs, Drews, etc have proven they can compete with the best (Pros) when the cars aren't stupid out of control.

Most of the pro racers I talk to admit the cars are ridiculous and see the need to slow them down. They all can see that touring car racing is taking the exact path of pancar. There are only a few of us left that remember pancar at the '98 worlds (Masami's head almost taken off) and Minnreg where cars were climbing walls and landing in tech

This last statement will not be popular here on rctech (home of all the experts), but some times the truth hurts; Most racers/consumers don't know whats best for them and the hobby/sport. Speed seems to be the common denominator that all racers want and get. Speed is also the common denominator that has killed almost every great class we have had in this great hobby/sport! This is the only industry where the manufactures don't work together and control the hobby.

Every 4 or 5 years one manufacture gives us a great product to race and then we find a way to destroy it.

Sorry Scotty/Boomer for the hijack

Preach on brotha. We as racers are too stupid to know what's better for us/hobby.

I am wondering if it's more that some of the foam non novak team drivers can't run someone elses motor unless it's a handout I have seen it in contracts. not a lot of sponsored drivers in rubber vs foam at bigger races.
As this isn't a handout race that forces them to run mod or not run at all. brushless isn't there yet in TC like it is in oval. the BRL has a corner on the brushless market in RC racing. still to many sponsored stock drivers running brushed just so they don't forget how to drive them.

we had a local take out his brushless in his TC and run brushed just so he can get ready for snowbirds, and he is a lower mains runner. says he wants to get use to the slow spinup and cornering speeds with the brushed. me I practice with 19t or mod just so I get my reaction up to speed then when everything slows down I can drive it without stress. the bad thing is my 19t is only .1 seconds faster then what I can turn with my 13mm 13.5 I would be happy to see 17.5 take over for stock brushless and slow everybody down.

as for lipo, you think brushless has made it too fast wait till you get some club racer running 2C lipo and a 13.5 and smoking the diffs each run like the mod guys.

I had a 4200 Blue Intellepeak blow up yesterday. First time it was charged. Luckily Boomer was there ... we heard it sizzle, Boomer told me to put a towel on it ... I did, and right as I did, the cell exploded ... the towel deflected the blast to the wall (THANKFULLY).

I've never had anything like that happen before. Charging at 6.5. Boomer wonders if it shorted, but I don't think so.

ok, two cents:

there are multiple ways to blow up a new/old pack -

charge capacity set too high (150%)
having solder too deep on the end (there are vents that should not be covered)
too warm: room temp. can have an impact.
dead cell (mine are usually in the middle)
short, etc.

it does happen sometimes to ALL battery companies, so at least you are not alone......
