Thanks Josh. I completely agree about motor reductions do to the future of LiPo, but I was trying not to bring down this thread I was just trying to answer the question why the classes are so close

If mod wasn't so ridiculous and stock/19t slowed to proper speeds then I think you would see racers in their proper classes. Many of the fast stock racers would then move out of stock becuase it's to slow. They would move up to 19t/10.5 and or limited mod. The Cuffs, Schrevans, Shreffs, Drews, etc have proven they can compete with the best (Pros) when the cars aren't stupid out of control.

Most of the pro racers I talk to admit the cars are ridiculous and see the need to slow them down. They all can see that touring car racing is taking the exact path of pancar. There are only a few of us left that remember pancar at the '98 worlds (Masami's head almost taken off) and Minnreg where cars were climbing walls and landing in tech

This last statement will not be popular here on rctech (home of all the experts), but some times the truth hurts; Most racers/consumers don't know whats best for them and the hobby/sport. Speed seems to be the common denominator that all racers want and get. Speed is also the common denominator that has killed almost every great class we have had in this great hobby/sport! This is the only industry where the manufactures don't work together and control the hobby.

Every 4 or 5 years one manufacture gives us a great product to race and then we find a way to destroy it.

Sorry Scotty/Boomer for the hijack

Default Batteries

Just wondering how many racers have experienced battery issues, you know blowing up, fires, melt downs, etc? Or have the NiMh issues died down.

There's been at least one 4200 go up that I heard of.

Thats nothing normal, I cooked one too. It's not the matchers fault that battery companies can't produce a quality cell.

The new EnerG cells seem to be holding up well, no problems yet.

Eli had a cell go in his car next to his face, lucky he was not seriously hurt.

Where these issues at this race? Or in the past? I'm interested in this particular event, and would prefer hard info and not "hearsay". Thanks.

Is there any rule reguarding which rotor(12.3mm or 13mm) to use in the 13.5 & 10.5 Rubber classes? If there's no rule, which rotor are most running?

PW fantastic posts! the last speedway spectacular race we all had 6 cell and 5 or 6 turn motors bolted into the cars.(10L) fun on the straights but the corners showed who could wheel a car and who couldn't,lol. if the cars are not slowed down touring car dies.we adjusted our speeds(in oval) by going to 4 cells..now we are faster with 4 cells and stock motors today than we were 5 years ago with 6 cells and stock motors....now with the advent of lipo and 7.2 volts we will need to adjust again in 2009 or oval will die like it did 8 years ago. mike boylan was one of only a few who figured things out and forced us to go 4 cells kicking and screaming...now we all love it! we realy do have no idea what is good for us......every RTR car box must exceed 75 mph or it is passed up by the young kids....sad but true...

Nope, just a mistake. Marty's running in Master's and they also (I think) run 13.5 brushless.

Anyone have an idea of what mains will be at what time. Want to go spectate tomorrow and am deciding what time to get there. Also, what's the estimated time for racing ending?

Thanks Larry. I guess what I'm really asking is if I show around around noon or 1:00 will there still be plenty of racing left?

There are 39 heats tomorrow figure about 7.5 minutes per heat (5 minute heat plus time between heats) that makes the round about 5 hours so all racing should be over by 2pm tomorrow.

Just my guess.
