The SMC energ-g 4600's rocked this past weekend......they helped me TQ and win touring 19 and touring stock at the second leg of the Western Canadian Indoor Champs Series. Excellent rip and no dead cells.....

my cells dont self discharge, they stay the same V the way i left them when i discharged them after a run.
it feels

then on race day i discharge them slow at 5A then charge at 5A then its rip time
now i got to drive better to take advantage of this added rip

and i only got the 4200 cells, cant wait to get the 4600 cells.

I have watched the thread for a while and you guys are hilarious. Added rip ... better than any cell ever made .. more rip ... heaps of rip....

So suddenly someone has found a cell like no cell ever made before ? ... PLEASE

THe added performance is more likely having a set of new cells against an old set of cells. It is good that they are more reliable .. dont get me wrong. But the hype is hilarious.

Consider the scenario .. these cels are being manufactured by one of the major battery companies .. not some small backyard manufacturer. This means this cell is being wrapped as another name as well. There is nothing wrong with this except the hype makes it hilarious.

BTW , before the flame war starts, I match cells and get cells from all manufacturers. I do not have an axe to grind for ANY company

Enjoy the cells ... just tone down the hype It is just so American

I ran 2 packs of new SMC IB4200's 1.243's 447sec packs and 2 SMC Ener-g 4600's 1.238 452sec packs and the 4600's were faster consistently by a tenth per lap in stock and 19 touring....I TQ'ed and won both classes and the 4600 packs were used in my fastest qualifiers and definately went in for the mains. Not hype just what I experienced.

Cannon,
I see you are not matching these cells yet. If you are interested please contact Erika at Promatch or Danny at SMC and Im sure they would be more then happy to do business with you. Why trust the people on the forum when you could be matching them for your self.

You mean that I am not matching cells with that particular heatshrink

When you deal direct with all major factories, you soon learn where each cell is made

The majority of racers generally test older packs against new packs. They will always be better when new. Keep the hype going guys. It is hilarious.

Do you all really think that a battery manufacturer had this technology sitting in the cupboard and wasn't using it? NAIVE to say the least

I personally think itís hilarious that people actually think that itís impossible to approach a battery manufacture In China or Korea with cell specifications and money and have it made. You can go call Kokam and give them cell specifications and lots of money and they will manufacture just about any Lipo you want. Does this make it a re-labeled Orion just because they get cells from the same place? I give props to Danny, Jack and Jeff for stepping up and providing us RC racers with a cell thatís more reliable and still has the performance to boot! We are all tired of cells going pop or falling off after 2 runs. I have EnerG packs with over 60 runs on them now and honestly they have only fallen a couple seconds of runtime and the voltage is still the same. Who gives a rats A$$ what company manufactures that cells as long as they work.

No I agree it has been there the entire timeÖIt just took someone to step up and have the manufacturer fine tune it to get what we needed out of the cell. Thanks Danny and JeffÖ.Keep up the good work!

Just thought i would post a post race results of the batteries from the novak race..

I put about 1200 seconds in the cells and they have been sitting for over two weeks now and i discharged them trayed them and let them sit for about 2 hours to make sure they cooled down good internally..

My packs using a 35 amp discharge 6 amp charge on my CE turbo 35

I do not repeak just charge and discharge...

rt volts ir air
450 7.41 8.9 78
445 7.40 9.2 85
458 7.38 9.4 88

Now tell me this is not awesome... If i would have done that with the older IB cells i would have had 3/4's of the packs dead.. There were some cells that lost some charge from my charge but all the cells and the packs had charge in them and NO dead cells...

VERY PROMISING!!!!!!!!!

When we were all happy with GP3300s a new company called IB released a 3600/3800 that had voltage that was significantly better than the GPs. More RIP! lol

Are you saying something similar could never happen again? NAIVE to say the least.
