That's what got us in the situation with the bad IBs in the first place. When all the problems starting popping up, if racers had a choice in which battery they could run and still win races, many of them might have attempted to use another cell... but there weren't any choices at the time, and thats why so many people bought cells they winded up being unhappy with.

Also, I can't help but to remind everyone who doesn't seem to remember... Racers win races. Batteries sure do play a huge part, but in reality they are only a small part of the total picture.
i agree
i run 1/12 and i dont win,all i want is cells that wont blow up on me and wont die with in a month of use.
and i think thats what alot of other ppl want too.cells that work for some time with good power.
like the old day's in someways.

Hello everyone, i was just wondering if there is any benefit to storing these cells at lower temperatures (4 or 5 celcius) in between each week of racing.

Wally, maybe we just know too much info about cells now in comparison to the "old days", I'm refering to the real old days.

Hey Everyone .. I know there is a great debate and stuff going on.. So i figured i would let everyone know my first hand experience with the cells... I was amazed at the performance of the cells. I charged at 6 amps and the batterys never vented hissed or did anything silly. I loved the way the cells ran especially on the 2nd and 3rd charge of the day. I felt each day these were the fastest the cells ran and was blown away by it.. I am very happy that there are options out there still and we have this hobby or job for some.

Storing them at lower temperatures will slow down the selfdischarge rate of the cells.

If you want to slowdown the selfdischarge then store them in the fridge but I don't have data as to how much slower it will be compared to storing them at room temp. Typically putting 1200 seconds of charge at 6 amps back into your packs will be good for 3 weeks of storage. That is on the EnerG cells other cells maybe different.

The EnerG 4600 cell is now ROAR legal. We expect it to be EFRA/BRCA legal for the new season which starts April 1st.

Danny,

If the cell will be legal does this mean the cell is a shorter cell that complies with the 43mm sizing?

i have 4 of these packs. they were awesome for 4 runs and then seemed to drop off. they don't have no where near the rip they had for the first 4 runs. each time i discharge them the numbers get lower. from what i've read on this thread these batteries were supposed to stay consistent.

Please post how your charging them and treating them ?

Most have reported that they get better after a few runs and stay very consistent.
