Can you tell me if the EP4600 and / or the E-Power 4500's are approved yet??

TIA.

Default Equalizing?

Forgive me for my ignorance but I just recieved one of these packs.

There was a card that came with it saying I need to equalize the battery's with a Novak Smart Tray. I've never used matched cells before and have never had to "equalize" any of my battery packs in the past. If I don't "equalize" the cells will it ruin my pack? Also looking at the Novak Smart Tray it looks like I will have to take my pack apart to use it? Can I put a fully assembled pack into the tray? Is there a cheaper alternative to the $80 Smart Tray? The tray is almost double the cost of the battery

Let the flaming begin...

This isn't going to happen again....
And what exactly is the reason for this "one time exception"?

Does it have anything to do with the Trinity 4600 being put on the approval list before the cell was ever even created. Wasn't a certain Fusion cell replaced by the Trinity 4600?

The E Power cells have been ROAR legal and were actually submitted "BEFORE" the last approval period cutoff.

If your positive cell of a 6-cell pack is at the back of the car, you have to do something to get the pack to fit in a Smart Tray. It is configured for the positive lead to be at the lower right when you insert the pack. Don't buy the first series, the Smart Tray II is better because it will maintain .9V per cell after initially getting there. With its spring steel contacts, the Smart Tray also easily accommodates bullet connectors on the pack.

Does this mean these cells will be ok for the new EFRA rules?

We have submitted shorter cells for EFRA approval and were waiting on to see if they have what it takes to get approved.

It's my understanding that not every race follows EFRA rules just like not all US races follow ROAR rules. We already have allot of interest from Europe on the current size cell.
