Thumbs up Time for a new car

[B]I am looking for a new car and am looking at 3 cars the 6cell t2008 EU spec, team magic E4 and top scythe, Any advice on what would be best out there.

I currently have a t2007 but never properly got on with it but it is getting better[ so was wondering if a change of make may be the way forward?/B]

Saw a top driver with the E4 last night,
He was trialing it for a mag i don't think he was really impressed with it

the drive train 3 belts was very tight, and appeared a little heavy.
It did look ok on the track but this guy could make a brick go fast.

The top scythe appears to be Ok but has poor parts backup.

Why not try the Corally Phi or Schumacher MI3 great cars straight out of the box.

Yeah the cars you mentioned are exotics. They may work great..they may not. You are better of with an established brand.

I know the Team Magic 1/8th buggy and 1/10th nitro sedan are disasters on wheels. That dose not bode well for the E4.

The Mi3 is the most advanced sedan on the market...end of story. Its the easiest to work on, the most easily adjustable car on the market and it just works.

If you had troubles with the XRAY - don't get the next one. I've seen plenty of people at club level struggle with the XRAY. It seems to me that it is optimised for high-grip high-level racing, if you don't have the grip at your track or great skillz then the car is a handful.

TOP Scythe is what I run and is a very good car. Parts supply is no problem at all in the UK, just ask your local shop to order them in, the UK distributor has very good stocks and despatches within a day usually. I have yet to break anything on it or wear anything out, and the suspension and drivetrain parts are mostly HPI and Yokomo anyway which helps.

Team Magic E4 is probably the boldest choice. Looks like an interesteing design but I have no idea if it works!

Not owned any of the 3 you mention, but if I had to choose, my money would be with the Scythe, purely for how others I know have rated it.

Bit of a shot in the dark answer though, as i'll never own any of them

With strong support and a large portion of the market now, I would say that Xray is an 'established brand'....

keep the 007 and keep it maintained, and you will be just fine.

I had a T2 (not 007) and have a TOP Scythe. Even when I ran them at the same time I was always faster with the Scythe and was never able to get the T2 to my liking. This is with rubber tyres on carpet. Out of the box, the Scythe is very flexible but there is a kit available (or will be soon) to make it better for foam tyres.
There's a new distributor in NA for TOP racing so parts support should pick up. Even still, suspension components are the same as the HPI Pro 4/HB Cyclone so your local hobby store would at least be able to get the commonly broken parts.
