Ran the class in the Florida State On-road Series years ago. It was a great way to seperate stock and mod. Stock Trans Am , Mod GTP.
Alot of COOL Bodies too.

I LOVE IT - I have ALWAYS loved the old T/A cars.

We did a series w/ PANCARS back in the Late 80's or Early 90's (I'm too old and forget now) where we did the T/A style bodies on the road courses...and similar bodies on the OVAL and called that class "HobbyStock" like what you'd see at the 1/4 mile short track on a Saturday night.

Things are headed towards a return of the SWT Series, but for
2017 the focus will be on the Encino Velodrome (and dirt oval racing)

Instead of just vintage make it sports cars also. supra, mustangs, RX8, focus, that school bus body if you want.

Then it wouldn't be vintage Trans Am.... The Supra, Focus, RX8 and the School Bus never raced in the Trans Am series...

Not even a chicken-egg issue...the Pontiac Trans Am took it's name from the series. Pontiac paid a royalty (I believe the number was $15 ea) to the SCCA for every Trans Am they sold. It's been said by more than one person who'd know that this money is what kept the SCCA afloat during the tough times in the '70's.

Whoa this is awesome....

Way back when we first came with the Mustang Shelby GT350 bodies we did a Vintage Mustang race at SoCal...

We're also going to include a Vintage class for the upcoming HPI/HB Challenge 08 series...

Vintage is way cool...

Calling all clubs and organizers that run the Vintage classes...I/we/HPI would definitely like to hear from you guys as we'd like to promote the cool Vintage Racing theme also...to mix it up instead of the usual racing classes

You can drop me a line at "[email protected]"

(...I did the Mustang, Camaro and 1/10th Cuda decals..so I's kinda a personal attachment thing also too see them in race action )

Thanks,

AH

Andy, Thanks for doing some work on these cars. This series was great back in the day. Scottick told me about the class and since we have started a new carpet track in Denver, I tossed it out as an entry level class.

Have you thought about making interiors for these?? It would be a great class / show to do with a Good Guys event or similar function.
