Default T2 and Orion 4200 hard case? Doesnt fit!

I just got a 4200 Orion hard case and went to put it in my t2 W/ the BMI chassis and it doesnt fit under the aluminum piece in the back. Anyone else had this happen and what if anything can you do????
This is the T2 Not OO7.

Did you mean the Orion Platinum 4800?

The only thing I have seen is an article on the Nexus web-site. It id for a 007, but maybe you could try something similar.

I have a T2R, but only use the Orion Carbon 3200.

Just file the RH bulkhead flat on the bottom and put a washer under the screw. It works great and the whole thing only takes maybe 20-30 minutes to do.

these type of problems with lypo will never end unless the lipo manufacturers decide on a standard size and stick to it so that the car outfits can design cars around them..

this has always been a small issue with Nicd, Nimh batts because as the capacity has increased, so has the size of the cells...

One of the racers at my local track had the same issue because the BMI chassis is lowered where the bulkheads/standoff etc bolt to the chassis so you can't just modify the bulkhead like you can with a regular T2. Well, you can but you won't have any material to screw in the top deck.

No problem. I'm glad it worked out!

BTW -- I still use the cell holders, along with the carbon battery strap. I just trimmed the one in the rear and it all holds a 4800 pack like it was made that way.

http://www.speedtechrc.com/store/ebp...id=494&id=5930

I have 2mm spacers under the posts for the 4800s and take them out for 3200s.

(sorry for the blurry shot...it's hard to get a close-up shot with an el-cheapo camera...LOL)

That looks good. I also used a spacer under the battery strap posts it works good that way.

That's my "mabuchi-mobile" It's the most dialed silvercan chassis ever made. It's super free and it has a really high final drive. Great car!
