I didn't know that premounts for sedans were that out of balance?

OK a little speculation here. I would like to see HPI/HB go away from the toe blocks that hold the suspension arms. I would like to see a configuration more reminiscent of the X-Ray, TC5, Phi. What does everyone else think?

FYI - The Cyclone is about 3 years old! Also, looking at your signature you have two 007s and a Cyclone for sale. What bandwagon are you on?

Snowy.

From rctouring.eu

The rumor has it that Hot-Bodies will bring a new touring car out in November for the next World Championships in Bangkok. The current World and European champions are busy making a new touringcar to defend their titles.
The Japanese driver Atsushi Hara was running lately a prototype. This prototype would have a saddle pack conversion, instead of the side by side battery. These are just rumors, but we aspect some real information during the new out-door season.

That would be dumb IMO to have a saddle car, then how the heck can we use lipos? There no hard case lipo that would fit, and the only ones that are saddle is max amps, which I dont like...

I dont know what they can change on the cyclone really, a better diff design, and some stronger C hubs and knuckles, but I dont think number 2 would happen.......

maybe with all the added torque of brushless, having the motor offset to one side is no longer favorable? older saddle pack cars had the motor on the centerline of the chassis.

REVO,

You need to understand that winning a IFMAR World Championship has nothing to do with pleasing the Lipo crowd. Once the race is over then yes it would be harder for the lipo guys to buy the car but that crowd is not everybody. Besides these are only rumors as I don't think anybody on this board has seen the car. Also Rick (Reedy) has said that they will release a saddle lipo in the future.

Frank,

Remember its exactly for this reason that you got good deals on your 007's. New car coming out allows people to sell the old cars at good prices and allows people without thick wallets to buy good condition 1 generation old cars cheaper. It really isn't that bad a thing.

The only changes to the current cyclone that i feel would be an improvement would be bigger diff rings and larger bolt pattern for the diff balls. The diff screw is under way too much load the way they have it now. The rest of the car is really good. Toe blocks like they use are the most adjustable but not very user friendly. It is a tradeoff and i would like to see them stay with the toe blocks. The reversable arms have been done by tamiya a long time ago on the 415. Very slick idea.

As for Lipo, as lipo gets more popular and common, Minimum weight rules will be lowered. Saddle pack cars will become the norm and manufacturers of lipo's will follow. As of right now the only TC on the market that benefits from lipo is the losi type R. all other TC's need weight added to them to get them balanced. Running a type R with lipo is almost unfair against all other brands of TC. I raced with a type R that was running lipo with my cyclone. I always beat this guy until that day. It is a huge advantage. I was wishing my car could run a saddle pack lipo that day.

Be prepared, car layouts will change from the current layouts as lipo takes over. what you see now will soon be old news.
