from the yokomo setups from that track 'Yatabe' one-ways are the norm. i guess it saves on runtime too.

I just haven't seen people scuff tires like that. I get the impression it's more common than I realize.

Just a couple of pics from Yatabe here: http://ken16w.blog.shinobi.jp/

This modified Cyclone was apparently seen in the HB pits...

- new shape chassis plate with cutouts for 5 cells and using plastic trays
- new shape upper deck
- glass fibre rear upper deck
- new shape diff joint? (maybe also seen on Hara's car on the third pic?)

Anything more??

Looks like the diff cut-outs are larger as well..

Are those Tamiya spring perches on the shocks? Or are HB now doing the nice drilled out ones in the pictures. That's quite nice.

Can anyone explain why they're running the rear arms backwards? They've been flipped around, you can clearly see the droop screw holes with nothing to rest against.

Lastly - might be poor judgement on my behalf. But the bulkheads themselves look to be wider. Look at the drilling on the bottom of the chassis. The middle bulkhead has a new CF plate, and the battery seems to sneak under the bulkhead more than the original chassis.

From the info I got from Japan, there were no problems with Hayato's car.

He just took a wider line which of course Marc took full advantage of and made an excellent move to take the win.

I think it was one of the best moves I've seen recently...

Looks like the 3 racing top deck with the wings.
Chassis looks more refined, shaped to limit rubbing on the track in corners.
a few pics had the guys remove the centre piece form the graphite mid place, maybe this is half way between the 2.
Diff joint looks interesting, looks like it is using bigger diff plates (about time)

Std HB spring perches
Arms backwards is strange, maybe it allows you to drill new holes for rear shocks with a different spacing? Droop screws have been drilled in the front of the arm now.
Bulkheads look the same, you would be able to tell at the layshaft and one way. does not look like extra spacing.

At first I also thought it was a 3racing upper deck, but it is not exactly the same as shown at 3racing's site.

The susp. arms are inverted to achieve a longer wheelbase and have more weight to the front of the car.
You can see how the driveshafts and turnbuckles are swept backwards, indicating that the wheels are much further back than the original position.

awesome cornerspeed though
Nearly everyone ran the Ales Racing design Lexus lightweight version.
This is becuse of using a one way, the shell takes away steering and makes the car easier to drive. And due to the fact it weighs virtually nothing it reduces the chance of traction rolling, big ussue at Yatabe.

You had to run a one way to make runtime.

Blue glow on marcs car was the light from the speedo, same on victors car.

HB team used rear arms flipped over to enable them to lay the shocks down on the arm more. Chassis is 5 cell version, just something they were playing with. Hayato, Hara and Andy ran normal 6 cell chassis.
Topdeck was done for Vegas carpet car, Hotbodies part.
