Briefly, some of the new rules for 2008 are:

1) weight min. @ 1400 gr. (from 1350)
2) Cell size max 43mm at any stage of their life (current expand beyond 44mm)
3) European Champs - 5 new sets of tyres for 5 qual runs.
4) The 5 sets will be sold to the racers during the EC @ EUR 100,00
5) European Champs - Friday morning - team managers meeting to decide if qual will be declared "dry" or "wet"
In case of dry = 5 qual runs with 2 best results count by point scoring
In case of wet = 5 qual runs with 2 best results count by fastest run

This is still a proposal for which more will be decided in the future.

Until this issue is clarified it's better we do not mention much, cause it will confuse people of what it means and what is the purpose of it.

Euros on asphalt, outdoors is the only and most important event which can declare a European Champion.

A indoor Euros is nice but it make no sense to run it on foams when most of the indoor racing in europe is on rubber tyres as far as I know.

From the AGM minute summary:

""Lithium Polymer drive batteries - allow them for 2009?
- Lipo is becomming more and more the standard of the industry.
- To improve safety for all racers aswell as organizers, clear rules must be written to avoid accidental issues.
- Dimension and configuration settings for (car) manufactors.
- Longer runtimes possible - higher cycles rates than NIMH
- Safety issues have improved alot over the past 2 years.

A discussion around this type of batteries took place and the section chairmen are to gather information in order not to delay the introduction longer than needed."

Interesting...
