I have been racing my M04M here for the past 6 months now and had I known what I know now I probably would not have bought my M03M!hehe

The M04M works great on our parking lot track (prepped with sugar/water) I run RP36r's and the car just hooks up!!! I am using 3racing alloy shocks with Tamiya red springs out back and the short blue springs up front 35wt. oil.

The car is very predictable and I can pretty much put it where ever I want to.

This is the same setup I ran on my M03M and it worked on that car to. The only reason I made the switch to the M04M really is because I got it used from a friend for $40!

It's a very good car to race and to me I feel more relaxed driving it compared to my M03M.

They're not having production problems, they don't make them any more, finished, no more, that's it....

No more RP's or Take Offs.

That's typical of this hobby. Finally comes around a great product and they discontinue it lol

Yah that does suck that they don't make the tires anymore!

I am hoping my tires will last atleast for this season, and hope that the new tires will be out soon!

Tony have you heard anything new about HPI making the x-patterns again?

How does one keep the chassis from tweaking or twisting?

There is not much you can do you just adjust your car to the tweak.

...except put a small glob of Shoo Goo or Amazing Goop on the socket places where the screws go through the front half of the chassis. Makes a big difference in how tight the chassis is when it's all bolted up. Not perfect, but better.

I've been running M04 and M03 for about 6 months now, and I prefer the "feel" of the M04. Sure, you can throw the M03 around with much more abandon than you can the 4, and it's a much easier car to tune, but the 4 is just more fun to drive, and can be as quick once you're used to it.

Tuning the 4 is definitely more difficult, but once you've found your balance, it rocks!

Scenario: TCS Regionals a driver put his MO4 out on a practice session 2 saturdays before regionals and it was fast and on rails. 2 weeks later he pulled his car out changed nothing I mean nothing and his car looked like it was on an ice rink. But he has two cars to choose from when entering a race and when the time comes when the MO4 is working its a tuff car to beat. Unless you tap him just a little and then he goes spinning as were the MO3 will pull out of most rubbing and banging.

hmmm...that story sounds painfully familiar

Well, we all know the solution to that problem is to be the aggressor. That, and good countersteering.
