Yes, if you look around good enough on the forum, you can find movies of some 540 action. I will see if I can find the links. There was one movie of a 540 spinning in complete circles. It was spinning so fast the camera's frame rate couldn't keep up with the rotations of the car, bassicly it was a odded blur on the screen!

I bought my micro when they were brand new on the market, and there was only the stock motor, crappy batteries etc. But arent they extremely fast without the 540 conversion, or does that just make them true rockets?

Mine uses a speed 400 motor. Think Mod TC fast. 540 must be preety nuts.

I would almost put money on the fact that a properly equipped micro with its stock motor could turn faster laps than a micro with a 540-sized motor.

But you never know, I guess.

What kind of cells are they running? 4 Sub-C cells? What about bodies, do the standard bodies fit on that thing?

Looks like it has 6 full size 1.2 nicads, but I could be wrong on that. I would think because of the handling difference that stock would turn faster laps as well... the straightaway is a different story though.

"needs to be done" is an understatement....more like MUST be done or the world will come to an end....

The thing would have killer straight line speed, but wouldn't be able to hold a straight line. With the added weight of 6 cells and a 540-sized stock motor, I don't think the tires would be able to hold traction. Maybe with a soft foam compound on carpet...

I am tempted to get one just to prove the theory! haha

Is the next conversion going to be a honda insight motor in the RS4? That's the closest comparism I can think of, I'm sure it would be cool just to say you have a regular sized motor in a micro, but the thing would suck for handling...

I would rather have a brushless setup. That would be almost as fast and much lighter.

And yes, they are using Sub-C cells in that thing.

NO, those aren't Sub-c's, they're 1700mAh NiMH's that are the same diameter as sub c but a lot shorter (hence lighter).

Still, I think the stock batteries for it are lighter than those batts Dont the modified motors for the micros tear it up as it is?
