Great news!

Wish the F1 could use lipo stick packs.

Anyone still have any pics of the F1's we used to race back in the mid 90's before TC's came along? CRC/Speedmerchant had one for sure.

Id love for this class to come back with 4 cell, brushless, and 1/12th tires.

Depending on the lipo pack, could look into a platform for the battery to sit on.

That long ago would have been the F101, F102, and the Kyosho F1 chassis. Later on the F013, Corrally, Cross, HPI, and Kiel were made. The Cross had an option for a link style rear suspension. To my knowledge CRC/Speedmerchant never made an F1 car. One group in Indy has some aftermarket chassis out to convert AE style cars to F1/Indy cars as well. Other then those I can't think of any other 1/10th scale electric F1's.

With the soft packs of lipos it should be easy to make them fit. With the hard packs Bolink sold a lexan adaptor and it would be easy enought to make one.
As for the guy talking about Tamiya using 1/12th foam we did use them. I got un cut 1/12th foam from BSR and mounted them on the rims. Also converted the tamiya car to use 1/10th foams. Because at the time the HPI was using 1/10th foam and gave them the advantage over the guys using the tamiya set-up foam 1/12th tires.
Would like to run F1 again in Florida? Anyone interested.

CRC used to make a car called the "Power F1" if I remember right. They ran pretty well at Cleveland when they had that class there.

I still have one of the CRC cars. It used the link setup like the Carpet Knife and you could order it to fit either the Tamiya rear pod or 1/12 pod. It had 6 cells inline, very scary on a tight carpet track.

Corally offers their body seperately as well. Not sure if it fits all F1 cars.
