C027s are still the stock motor of choice. A few people still seem to like Monsters but I've never been able to get a good gearing on those.

Full Throttle Motorsports (www.teamfullthrottle.net) makes up some really hot tuned C027s. I suggest the blue-printed version. They're some of the strongest stock motors I've ever driven.

It's funny how about every 4-6 weeks this topic gets posted and we all jump in saying CO27's tuned by ....

Everyone already knows a 13.5 is faster than a Co27

so why buy Co 27 ?

Lol. It's fine if your club supports a 13.5 brushless class. Unfortunately, a lot of clubs either don't have enough racers to divide the classes by stock or 13.5, or they don't want to run them together.

13.5s are obviously faster than a normal brushed stocker, but until ROAR gets involved in speccing a 13.5 brushless that can officially compete against a stock brushed motor, you'll always have this debate.

This is true, and you wont be eating brushes like theyve gone out of fashion. I am seriously considering my next motor to be brushless, christmas is just around the corner...

As much as I like tinkering with motors, I will prefer to spend my time on setup as I still have a lot to learn.

Ahhh... My favorite topic. Co27 is, in my humble opinion the best all around motor out there but I also like the Epic X motors. Nice RPM and run pretty cool. I personally run C027 in stadium truck but am now running Epic X in touring car on asphalt.

On the subject, I'm wondering if anything good other than the Monster Stock will be BRCA legal anytime soon. It's a shame that Co27 and Epic X aren't legal in the UK.
