Just and update. I picked up an IOTA DLS-30M and the truer starts correctly with this power supply. No clicking. Instant starting as it should.

For those that don't know, IOTA is the parent company of Rivergate Bulldog power supplies. (Rigergate is a rebadged IOTA.)

I have the Full Auto HUDY one from...2000, and I have never use powersupply to start it...I use those cheapo car jumper batteries from the auto store...like $50 or so. NO click...start right up, 7 years, without 1 single problem....when truing 1/8th tires...motor power DOES matter.

I have seen other brand (cheaper brand) truer just stuck while cutting the foams. They were using power supply....I am no electrician but I rather dedicate only 1 power source just for the truer, so power supply will not be use for the truer, for me, they are for my charger and discharger.....carrying and charging 1 of those batteries is close to nothing.

I have two fully auto Hudy. My pyramid and MMR 24 will not work on them. all my stuff were bought new.

I used the small 12v gel cell starter battery to true my tires or the car battery if I am cutting a lot of tires. The big car battery is the best, nothing beats 500+ cold cranking amps. I use a $10 jumper cable to lenthgthen the wires so I can set the tire truer on the floor. That way I don't get any tire shaving in my engine compartment.

I thought about getting the 30 amp bull dog or a $180 gell cell car battery. The $10 jumper cable works the best and cheapest. The most I cut at one time is 6 sets of 1/8. 24 tires. I have two small 7 ah 12v starter box batteries. I can cut 3-4 sets of 1/10 foam tire with one of them.

Lots of RC Stuff
