If you do an upgrade, it should preserve much of that stuff, but a clean install will delete everything and start fresh. I'd back up everything that's important, though. You can pick up 80G external USB drives for like $70 these days. It's totally worth it. Plus, you can use it with Time Machine in Leopard.

I am also looking forward to getting the electric version whenever it gets released, but I kind of think we will see the off road version first, which from the sneak previews, looks awesome!
the game is awesome the only problem with it is the game screen size. it doesn't stretch to fit the screen so it is very hard to see the car in some areas, and i have a 22" widescreen.hopefully that will be fixed in the v4 coming spring 2008. this was on their site:"This is a massive project and is expected to hit the market spring 2008. The nitro and electric on-road versions will be released first, in the second half of 2008 followed by the nitro and electric off-road versions."

This would be a better question to ask in the macrumors.com forum, but to answer your question, it depends on how you install the new OS. You can install and migrate your data, you can do a clean install, or you can archive and install. I always do a clean install, however I also have 2-3 backups of my current hard drive configuration, so it is easy to transfer my data over.

I would like to see VRC mimic Forza 2 in its live tuning display, where it shows all the information about your car on an overlay HUD. IE what your camber is while going around corners. Yes it may be "cheating" but it would be great to see if you changes are right. In VRC you cant see how your tires are coning or wearing, nor can you see the wear pattern to show you if your tires are too hard or soft. I know the last part is not possible, but showing live camber, and dampening would be VERY useful.

I just loaded the demo game on my 20" Intel iMac. Wow, performs really smooth, 60-70 frames per sec at all max details, and the usb adapter to my specktrum receiver worked without a hitch. Fills up most of the screen.

Loaded OS 10.5, ran BootCamp with an OEM version of XP. Plugged in the USB adapter and it configured itself. Loaded the Demo program that I downloaded from the BootCamp XP and it ran the 1st time.

Upgrading to 10.5 didn't erase/loose any files; neither did partitioning the drive for XP with BootCamp. Go ahead $rusty$, it worked pretty smooth!

Guess I'll buy the full game, hope that it helps keep the skills up during the down weeks.
