Default what is this wire on my LRP Sphere?

I bought a used LRP Sphere Competition ESC, and it looks to be in good shapre, however there is this short-cut blue wire where the reciever and cap. wires come out of it. The manual doesn't show it and there's no description of it so I don't know if this is bad news or what. Any help or advice is greatly apprecieated.

Could it be a wire for an external programmer? I had a KO Propo ESC that had something similar to that. It was for a programmer.

It's for older servos that required a power lead. You can cut it off.

Thats correct its the lead for a fet servo.
Gives the servo power direct from battery.
