Thumbs down Xray and Trinity

I usually don't post unless it appears important. I was going to purchase NIB (2) Xray T2's and (2) nitro buggies and (2) nitro truggies. Now I will NOT purchase anything from Xray. I will switch to another manufacturer (Trinity is the only manufactururer I will not support, because of Ernie's method of trying to monopolize the R/C industry).

I have mucho $$$ invested in Kyosho, Jammin, Associated, Losi, and Mugen products, but only purchase a Trinity part if they are the only company manufacturing the part I need (there are not many of these parts).

Basically, Xray just lost a customer that would have spent easily over $10,000.00 in Xray products. Not trying to flame anyone, just providing feedback to Xray and Trinity.

Not sure I can believe that any one individual would spend that kind of money with any single RC car manufacturer.

I can believe spending that much ....

There is a local who i race with, he just recently said he was going to stop racing for a while who also used xray products and said this past year he spent right around 10,000 over a year of racing.. running both nitro and electric.

So i can see people spending that much on a year of rc.

I know two guys that have dropped as much as $2500 each in a single visit to Superior Hobbies in Orlando. I was there with my uncle when he did it once. A GFX, 4-5 new top level 6 cell packs, a new sedan, servo, speedo, body paint...poof...thats $2500!

If you are racing seriously, replacing batts frequently and traveling to races $10k in a year is easy to spend.

These are guys that want to win and leave nothing to chance. I spend a lot less than this and I am way faster than my uncle and if I am practicing and on point I am as fast as the other guy for about 25% of what they spend.

Either way...this is a fun hobby but not a cheap one. We are all adults and spend what we can afford.

I will say at are hobbyshop we have one guy that just spent 5 grand last week and 1 to 2 thousand over ever week befroe that. He easily spent 10 grand in less than 2 months so it is very possible, but whether the guy is telling the truth we may never know.

In todays day and age you never know who has money to dump on toy cars and with the economy like it is you have to treat everyone like a potential customer because you never know he may be the big spender looking for the shop/company that treats he well.
