Default why not use the battery clamp that came with the car?

imn new at this ,..... what is the advantage of using the tape

(1) Lighter
(2) If your carbon battery strap not setup/install correctly (with correct shimming and preloading due to the size of the batteries and the carbon chassis battery slot)...it will create chassis tweak.
(3) Some ppl like purple, red, green, yellow tape to match their car.......
