and believe it or not alot of it is self promotion. company's love to know when their products are doing well. even if you are not sponsored it doesn't hurt to call up a company who's product you run and let them know how much you like it. it gets you acquainted with them and them with you. and you never know maybe down the road an opportunity would come up.

pirate60 pretty much summed it up. alot of it is being fast but really thats only 40% the rest is every other point that pirate said. but also even the best of us have meltdowns at the track
