Herd that gpm manufactures their stuff without "r & d", hence they are not race proven. I'd prefer Square instead.

Default GPM

im not sure about now, but when i had parts from gpm for my micro and the pro2, some parts virtually dont fit without sanding or they "just wont fit", and some alloy parts are not even tapped at the screw holes.

if youve used thier oil shocks youll know what im talkin about. they use black orings and molding of piston is poor, alot of friction.

not all thier parts are bad, and they might have improved now but just b careful when choosing from GPM

much better alternatives are Square from Japan and some good ones from HK are jet racing, 3racing.

Or anything else for the pro 4 for that matter?

I don't recommend the Square alum. front knuckles...they tend to break near the area where it screws onto the C-hub... get the Jet Hobbies version... or soon to be released version from HPI which is offset about .5mm to improve handling...

Now for the Bad news.... All of you guys that have the PRP Brace....... for the one way gear,,, it "WILL NOT WORK" with the newer Ver. 1.1 gear You have to use HPI`s backing brace ( I wondered why HPI`s brace was a bit smaller a couple of days ago when I was doing some testing with the PRP vs HPI backing ring )
So for you users of the PRP brace..I would suggest you stock up on older bevel gears...If you can find them that is

and ALso the newer Pro4 kits here in Japan are now shipping with the Version 1.1 gears and Backing plate ...wonder if the States will be soon to follow

Are you getting your parts from one of the shops in Akihabara? Would you mind picking up some extra parts for me while you 're there? My brother lives down in Yokosuka, but it's a pain in the a$$ to get him to run all the way up to akihabara. I don't blame him though. If I remember correctly, I took about an hour and 15 min or so and that's including changing trains in Yokohama over to the Yamonte line.

Are you sure that's a Pro 4, you have? Did you buy the kit sealed / unopened or second-hand? If, second-hand... then it sound like someone played the "swap-out" game.

kits in japan now come with universal driveshafts, unlike MIP CVDs they have the joint on the bone instead of the axle.

how are the shocktowers diff. from tthe previous ones?

The shock towers are still the same.... but some of the drivers in Japan prefer to use a rear tower up front also
