so they are flying 6 (or whatever) people out to cali to talk about a location, seems like a video chat or something would fix that in a hurry....since everyone has a computer and a cam is only 50$ away these days...

i want an answer, see where we get to go this year....

I for one need to make a decision soon, Last year I was already planning for a trip to CEFX. I can't do both the Nationals and Snowbirds. Right now I can plan for one and wonder about where the other will be

I would agree, this is a bit ridiculous.... especially when the original cut off date to submit for the race was waaaay back in JULY....

That statement is completely false...I am on the on-road committee and KNOW when all the bids were sent in...So dont start conspiracy theories without knowing what really happened.

For carpet all the bids we considered (5) were all in well before the deadline. For the Asphalt nats there was only 3 bids in in time of the 4-5 we had. We (the on-road committee) Only considered the 3 that were in on time.

We gave our recommendations to the Excomm when we were supposed to and its up to them to decide where the race goes. Hopefully they get their heads out of the sand and give us some answers!!

O.K. lets give all the ROAR people time to get back from Ohio say two days to get over the jet lag, day to remember that nagging question everyone was asking at the race.....We should get the announcement just before Christmas.

Yhe funny thing is that according to the Rev Up back in 2006, bids for both 2007 and 2008 were supposed to be submitted in 2006. Any bid after that date back in 2006 should not have been concidered.

Seems like a year would have been enough time to figure out where the 2008 races are going to be.

Maybe they still have not got the bids they want.

We are still waiting on the EXCOM. I chatted with Dawn a few days ago, and they were getting together to talk about the BID's.

I can tell you, for the Carpet Race, the top 3 from our committee were .. and in no paticular order.

The Gate
Thunder RC < Boylan
Hobbyplex

We will see how it goes. I would hate to see the race go to a track just becuase it is in the home state of the president.
