Hi Joe,
The complete front-end is a standard Old Skool (Asso design?)which I bought;
available at CRC, SpeedMerchant,...:
steeringblock

If I could construct them my own, I would! Unfortunately no possibility, if
you have the tools, please do so! It is always great to see new things/products.

Default New crc motorplate

A request from a local driver = design a new lower motorplate for the CRC T-Fource. He wanted to use a CRC Gen-X pod on his T-Fource, so with this
new motor plate, it was very easy to do ... yes, we call it the CRC X-Fource

Grtz,
Benedict.

Hi Benedict, I am in the middle of making a 12th car for myself to use this winter season, the car will use an AE front end for now. I was interested to see if you would make a front end for your own car and understand that this is difficult to do but have a couple of designs that I hopefully take some sort of picture of and let you see. Of course, it will not be a Dynamic Strut type front end (too hard to make), but it will be some sort of wishbone arrangment like the SP12X or original CEFX car.

Anyway, good luck with your own car!

Cheers bud, Chris.

Default New front end

Hi Chris,

Very interesting! To be honest, I'll run a CEFX C12 (with the original wishbone front suspension by Cyrul) to try and understand the front-end in a couple of days/weeks...!!! (just waiting on a front bumper to arrive and I'm off!)

A front-end like on the CEFX C12 has always interested me (just like the Old Skool, Trinity based, Corally based,....) and considered it to use it on my new car, one problem for me :
(future) availability of those C12 front king pins...
all the other parts have good availability or are in carbon fibre or epoxy => so I know I can make them or something similar, non-carbon parts is more tricky.

Have to admit in 12th scale I personally prefer the most simple method (yes I use the Old Skool front-end and am proud of it). SpeedMerchant proved it is still a winning front-end (or was... now they are not longer using it).

Send/PM me your drawings or ideas about a possible front-end.

I'll post my ideas on the CEFX C12 front-end here soon.

Regards,
Benedict.

Default Vantomme goes CEFX C12

Here it is... (yes, without frontbumper) so I can (soon) check out the famous CEFX front suspension ...
If I can handle it/get it right maybe I'll try to use it on one of my cars.

I've used Old Skool steering blocks and placed the steering turnbuckles as low as possible.
The rear design (pod+carbon parts) is the same as on the M12 or Arrow (except for the lower motor plate).
Besides that, it's just a basic CEFX C12 (with a 3mm thick chassis!).

Thijs will continue this weekend with setups for the Arrow.
My 'test' with the CEFX is for next weekend.

Grtz,
Benedict

Default Black Widow upper motor plate

Here is a picture of a new upper motor plate of the Trinity Black Widow.

It was also a request of a local driver (see above for new CRC T Fource plate),
who felt there was way too much flex in his original upper motor plate.
The distance between the points to attach the plate on the pod and
the center shock was too big and would cause the plate to break in the long run.

Benedict.

ps: That the Black Widow is still a hand full to race against... and that the M12 is doing allright .... prove these results:

The long expected Vantomme t-bar car is ready !! >> VANTOMME E12 <<

## first of all I would like to thank everyone who supports me and my design work ##
## most of all, my dad for the neverending support, my mom, my girlfriend ..for their patience and understanding ;-), my brother Emmanuel
to whom I dedicate this t-bar car (thanks to you I started with 12thscale racing) ##

Recently released the 3rd generation of Vantomme m12, the 2008 Arrow,
a t-bar type car was still missing in the product range.

The VANTOMME E12 is a brand new designed car, unlike the previous vantomme car designs, this is a t-bar car :
in a 'tube damper' edition and a 'asso damper' edition.

FRONT - END =

The unique (front) chassis design, used on the m12 2008 Arrow, is also used on the e12.
(thus creating an easy switch between the two Arrow editions and this e12 front suspension and bumper)
The front - end can hold an Asso style (L4), Old Skool or new CRC Gen X suspension.

CENTER SHOCK =

A new feature on this VANTOMME E12 is the possibility to attach the center shock :
> extremely low towards the chassis
> 4 hole option in center line chassis
This results in no more than
> 8 different positions to attach the center shock
( equals 8 different ways in which force is exercised on the chassis)
( height/angle is adjustable by using different length of ball cups)

T-BAR TWEAK =

Another new feature on the VANTOMME E12 are the numerous - but reasonable and realistic number of - tweak points and their location !
The tweak screws are NOT put through the t-bar or NO extra 'tweak plate' is used to tweak the t-bar.

The new E12 chassis comes with mini - tweak screws UNDER the t-bar !
Therefore, the tweak can be set and adjusted from outside (bottom) of the car !

An easy and functionable tweak =
( no extra tweak plates!
( no infinite number of tweak possibilities!

REAR - END =

Two versions are available : the 'asso damper' style and the 'tube damper' style.
The 'asso damper' uses the standard asso damper (see associated rc12L4).
The 'tube damper' features the long CRC damper tubes.

The rear pod is a V-dezign carpet ripper pod, making the VANTOMME E12 (asso damper and tube damper) a car with an extremely low CoG.

Yours sincerely,
Ir. Benedict Vantomme.

(( the new VANTOMME E12 -- inspired by simplicity, driven by excellence ))

(( coming up very soon -- the VANTOMME M10 -- ))

Finally, here it is !

The first VANTOMME PRO10 200mm edition, with the very original name : Vantomme M10 ;-) (this one is for you dad!)

No need to explain that this car is based upon the already famous CRC Gen X10.
It is more like a 'standard' version without the ability to make it a 235mm or without the options on the battery tray.

The VANTOMME M10 is made out of 2.5mm carbon.
The battery tray is attached with 6 points to the chassis.
Therefore making it also a "upper deck" and provides increased stiffness to the chassis.

The chassis design is based upon his little brother; the VANTOMME M12 2008 ARROW.
Although the chassis holds 6 battery slots, the purpose is 4 cell racing - just offering 3 battery postions.
There is plenty of space to put the largest electronics (BL ESC) nice and easy on the chassis.
The chassis furthermore holds two points to keep the links, one straight inline; one at an angle of 22.

The used parts are mainly (like the Vantomme 12th scale kits) from IRS, BMI, CRC and Speedmerchant.

Yours sincerely,
Ir. Benedict Vantomme.
