Default Nomadio question

So I got this nomadio "react" in a package deal with a car and some stuff the other day and have a question about the RX. The antenna wire coming out of it is rather large, almost like it has a plastic coating around it and a woven fabric looking thing inside that, almost like an insulator. Does anyone know about these radios or the antenna i'm describing?

Basically my problem is, the antenna wire won't fit into the antenna tube...leaving me scratching my head and an 8 inch wire flopping around and getting in my way.

Any help would be appreciated!

Chris

Contact Scott at Nomadio support

That extra covering is an insulator and I do believe that the antenna wire can be shortened, but I do recommend contact support to verify the specifics on how to do it properly.

Here is the link to the Nomadio contact info:

Default nomadio receiver wire

Use an airplane pushrod tube. Fits perfectly.

Scott said to use an RTR antenna tube as they seem to be bigger. Another guy said I could coil it up like a 1/12th car...coil it around the tube and shrink wrap it. All good ideas, i'll check out larger tubes first though. Probably the easiest way.

Sounds like you have the V2 transceiver. The "weave" that you see is actually a contactor for your coax antenna wire. The antenna wire sits in 2 saddle clips on the IC board within the transceiver case - one clip for the core, and one clip for the weave. Don't be afraid to use a short antenna length under the shell. The radio will still bind.

so like...can I roll up the antenna wire and stuff it inside the RX housing? leaving a little pig tail hanging out the back end?

You can coil it up, the actual antenna is just that little piece of wire at the end...

They tell us it should come out of the body but I run mine under without a problem... I've driven my 5th scale a good 900' away without a problem with it under the body...

mafiaracers
I have a 1/10 on road electric and all that i do is coil it around the antenna tube and secure it with what ever (tape or rubber band) and lay it under the body shell just make sure it will not get caught on anything.
