Hey guys, I ordered my kit and most spares today from Speetech. I am still looking for a couple things;
46mm steel axles and JAAD thrust bearings. If someone can direct me to an online store that would be cool. Also, if I want to run a diff in the front , what axel lenght should I use?
Thanks

I think syndr0me has a pretty good setup from the IIC. Have a look a few pages back or do a search on his posts.

yeah i had to shave a ton of material from the steering knuckle to clear a
28mm foam tyre. But the car doesn't work for some reason with foams?
I couldn't get consistent droop settings, the car just acted wierd.

also the Square aluminum knuckle has a good fit with 28mm foams
if you go that route.

If your going to run a front diff you can get away with the 42mm axles, usually only run the 46mm axles when using a spool as the short axle seems to break the nylon spool cups, (pin out to far in the cup), since the diff would use pin cushions it shouldn't be a problem. Soory, no idea about where to get the parts, maybe rcmarket, but shipping is expensive for a small order like that. Try Ampdraw, in the US, they have a lot of Tamiya parts too.

Go to Tryhards site, and use Oli Meggitt setup from Southend-indoor,or Corey Whiteman setup from Fastcats Grandslam, either on are very good starter setups and then fine tune from there. If traction is higher go to 1mm sus mount spacers over the .5mm ones and maybe adjust the rear toe according to what the car is doing. Either the XA/D or the XA/E tune for preference. Also if you want a little quicker turn in try a C/C front mount instead of the D/D, again depends on how high the traction is.

Syndrome started with Coreys setup and tuned from there, his car looked really good at the IIC.

46mm bones seem to be hard to find. I think Tamiya discontinued the part number from the EvoIV... but.... I'm not sure if this is correct, but I think maybe they opened up another part number for it as maybe a TA05 Ver II part number? I can't remember where I seen it. I'll surf around and see if I can't find it.

When running foam we used to cut the front wheel width down to 26mm and sometimes 24mm. A real pain in the butt, but worth the effort.

I didn't keep the package that the 46s came in, I actually picked up a package that had 46 steel axles, 42 aluminum axles, the pins, float pins, setscrews and outdrives, since all my stuff was pretty worn out anyway. I don't think the outdrives are the exact replacements, but would work in a pinch and was chaeper than buying each piece seperately.............just sucks I don't have the number, got it from Ampdraw though.
