It's a more secure mounting for the motor mount (two screws and an L shaped bracket), and slightly different shape against the motor side... having said that, in all honesty, I really don't think it's a vital part to have, unless your running mod all the time. And yes, it will fit the "regular" 416 fine

they bend... rather have a cheap plastic part break fully, rather than bend and not spot the problem!

I had a big issue with the C-hubs on the 416 to start with, seems like the carbon ones are a bit brittle. Went for a while running 3-racing alloy ones until I spotted one had bent, then switched to normal plastic ones... haven't had an issue since, not broken a single one!

Having said that, they look good....

Also, with the plastic parts being able to flex, they generally will give you more traction.

when they bend you just replace it, i never even noticed a driving difference when mine were bent, way better than snapping a plastic one and then pulling the car off the track.

Personally, I would rather it break. I spent a while chasing a setup issues before I spotted the bent C-hubs. It wasn't bent by much, but it made a big difference to how the car handled (as you'd expect with 6deg castor one side, and 4 the other ). For steering components at the very least, I'll stick with the plastic

Anyway, if your gonna replace it anyway, why not replace the £4 plastic part rather than teh £15 alloy bit?

If you can make the IFS c-hubs work with your setup, they're basically indestructible! :-) Sloppy, for sure, but I've never had one break. They give a bunch of steering, too.

stop posting and get to work on that 416 roll center calculator.

What is your gearing (final drive ratio) and how much RPM does your 13.5T do?

Depends on the track layout but I mostly run 4.6 FDR. I'm not too sure of the RPM since we don't have a way to really dyno these brushless motors.

Hi,

@Bent Aluminum Parts:
Try to leave one "weak part", then you never will have problems with bent Knuckles or Rear Hubs. I only use the front Aluminum Knuckles and rear Aluminum Hubs (0°), and had never a problem, because these 2 parts are the most massive ones.

@New Motormount:
When driving a 2.5T BL there were issues with bent Motormounts. So Tamiya reinforced them in order to get even those "freaks" happy. In my oppinion it is a very nice solved and technically "WOW" solution - (when looking at the very precise fit of the L-Bracket).
