hey guys, im here asking for help how to improve my lap time. i've just bought a new lap timer and waiting for weekend to approach to test it out. my lap time and consistancy have been improving for the past 3 months and im always 0.8-1second behind the first place (fastest guy usually ~22.6sec).. i usually come in 2nd 3rd or 4th and sometimes but rarely 1st in qualifying rounds during club day. on the straights, im pretty confident that im the quickest but when it comes to conering, im very much slower. over here we run on asphalt, 19t and all of us runs komodo dragon pro spec.
any suggestions on how to improve lap time?
im thinking if getting a better servo would acutally help?
im currently using futaba s9401 and its close to 6 years old now. im looking at getting the new futaba BLS451.

same here in my country. maybe because they dont perform locally... i cant say much because i am new. hope this therad can help 416 driver to improve anywhere...

From my experience this has more to do with your driving skills and setup than steering servo.... (but of course your servo needs to function OK)

Does anyone (e.g. rcmarket?) know if the white and milky blue spring sets and black and milky blue sway bars have been discontinued? That's the word I've got, but I'm not sure about the standard colours. I guess updated versions are coming

Pretty sure you can still get the milky blue springs and bars (it's what I use, as I like it all to match... ), not sure on the white springs, or black roll bars.

yeah thats my second choice. I wanted white springs with black roll bars because "milky blue" is a little fruity for an item as tuff and manly as roll bars. Matching is paramount though, are the regular springs all different colours or are they just silver?

Hey Ed just to confirm, the 46mm steel front shafts fit with the short arms? I'll be running a spool in mod so want to toss the aluminium shafts right from the word go, not much point if they bind up with the short arms though

I have used 46mm steel bones with A/A blocks up front with short arms. But now I'm running B/B. Gonna switch to A/C and see how that goes. So yes... 46mm does work up front with a spool.

As Mike said, yup the 46mm bones fit fine. With B/A on the front I had no clearance/binding issues, even with the one-way. With the spool the clearance is even better for the pins.

The regular springs are all different colours. Red is soft (11.9lb), yellow is medium (13.3lb), Blue is hard (14.0lb), white is extra hard (15.3lb), Grey is super hard (20.9lb), and purple is ultra hard (22.7lb). The milky blue and white sets are the same springs (although they don't include teh purple and grey), and all the same colour, with a dot on each spring distinguishing it's rating.

I would get the c hubs now. That is the weakest point of the car. I broke mine the 2nd time on the track on minor hit... I had to wait 3 weeks before I could get a spare since they couldn't be found anywhere! I went aluminum and have yet to have a problem.

In my humble opinion, the 416 should have the following before hitting the track:

Stronger bumper (PDub here)
Aluminum chubs (Square)
Steel CVD's (up front at least)
Titanium steering rods

Also, be sure to loctite all the steering assembly screws, they will work loose no matter how hard to tighten them. I've been using the blue aluminum tie rods on the rest of the car without any trouble so far. I've got the full set of titanium just in case, though.

finally SQUARE will release on 12/05 the new Aluminum Rear Hubs with 0° of toein in blue hard-anodized aluminum. Think they will be available in europe around 16/05.

gents, can i use 416's front spool or one-way on 415 msx?

I don't see could do that, but why don't use the properly for 415msx?
Earlier times the problem was 416 couldn't have a own spool instead of try using 415mre ones.
