Tamiya TRF416 / TRF416WE / TRF416X

The UJ can stay if they are good.
The steering mod has to be changed
The pulleys and steering system arn't that expencive
I say check fleebay,RCtech or go for yeah i know i am swearing
the 3racing parts.
17 dollar for the steering system, about 3 dollar for the belt pulleys and a tenner for the diff pulleys.
Or you could buy a gear diff for the rear.
A bit more money but a good investment.

Ok thanks for help,
But what change about performance between smokem and tamiya? (because I have the chance to buy both of them.)

The smokem has more flex, so is better for lower grip and will give more steering and more rear grip, but less corner speed . The tamiya deck is more of an all rounder

Have you ever tried it?
Thanks for help.

The main reason I bought it was for friendlier LiPo mounting, which it caters for nicely, but the handling has certainly not disappointed.
Phil.

i run teh smokem and as Craig says heaps of grip and i enjoy that.
i struggled with my 417 until i put the new FX smokem on that and it has turned it into a new car
go the smokem

Have run both the Smokem and Tamiya Lipo chassis on my 416X, both are fantastic but I settled on the Tamiya chassis, it has a better feel all round for me anyway, but you will struggle to find one nowdays. Go with a Smokem you wont be disapointed, you may need to hack up your top deck a little though to get the full advantage of it.

Nuts...
Read this to late
There was a Tamiya lipo kit on e-bay a day or 2 back but it ended allready.
I drive the Tamiya Lipo chassis on my 416X and like it.
Have heard from others that the Exotek has a bit more flex so more grip.
If you need more rear grip, use the split suspension blocks at the rear and or narrow the track wide using other suspensionblocks or 4mm wheel hexes.
This also will help.

Yes, I found the lipo mounting friendlier too.
I've seen the kit too on ebay and I try to bring it to home , but I fail
I've got the TRF 416 first edition and I've read that the top deck is a bit stiffer, isn't it. Maybe if I put a smokem chassis I will have some more advantages.
However I'm orientated on smokem fx principally and on exotek.
Thanks all for help
